The April PetGiftBox ($17.99ARV/month) was our first and Buddy (9 month old kitten) was the first to catch a wiff of the mysteries inside. As soon as it entered the house he attacked me in a friendly, "Mom can I have it please!" sort of manor. Now, we had just gotten home with lunch. The PetGiftBox was on the front porch waiting for us and without thinking, I brought it in the house. Needless to say, I wasn't able to finish my lunch, Buddy made sure of that! 

He sniffed the box, rubbed on the box and scratched at it.Oh and rolled around, see the short video below. 

The package is addressed and shipped to your furry friend(s) and the inside label is addressed to them as well! April 22nd was Earth Day, so for the April PetGiftBox they took an Earth friendly approach for the packaging and products. 

TOYS!!

My furry babies received some awesome toys and tasty snacks!

I barely got the box open and Buddy snatched the Wooly Fun Feather Ball ($7.97ARV) right out of the box! It was still attached to the cardboard backing, but he didn't seem to mind. The Wooly Fun Feather Ball is handmade in Nepal by artisans. It is made chemical-free through the whole process and is filled with organic catnip. 

 

The other toy we received that they also love is Shelby the Hemp Mouse ($6.99ARV), the little orange toy by Buddy's tail in the above photo! The cat nip was definitely strong and apparently much more appealing to not only Buddy, but also Sunshine (1.5 year old) who was soon fighting with Buddy for the mouse toy. After the boys had their fun with the toy then Chippie Cookie (momma kitty), who was still pregnant at the time had her fun with it and was not going to give it back, she was even growling (yes, cats do growl). Shelby the Hemp Mouse is made of hemp fabric and is filled with organic catnip. All three of the cats play with this one as well. Every time I see either of these toys they are either being thrown in the air by one of the cats or in a different part of the house. They approve of both toys! 

Treats!

Pet Greens Deep Sea Tune Semi Moist Cat Treats ($4.89ARV) are tasty bite sized treats that contain real fish as it's first ingredient and is free of artificial flavors, colors, wheat gluten and soy. All three cats love their new Green treats! Perfect little bite sized morsels! 

We also received Pet Greens Self Grow Garden ($4.49ARV), which is a pouch that grows organic greens in it's self! It is 100% certified organic wheat grass seed and soil mixture in a ready-to-grow bag. The seeds begin to grow within seven to ten days and is a delicious snack to satisfy your pets greens craving. Even reptiles can enjoy the Pet Greens Self Grow Garden! I can't seem to find my photos of this, but once I find the images, I will be sure to update this post.

Here are a few, Recycle your pet food cans and buy the largest size for the best value and less waste. Even if your pet wont/can't eat the whole can at once, you can almost always refrigerate the extra and feed it to them at a later time or date. A great one, especially in my neighborhood with all of the dog owners is to use biodegradable poop bags and for us cat owners, use non-clay cat liter. If you're really committed, they even recommend you compost your pets waste! What are some other ways you practice being green when it comes to your pets?

Zoey's Attic was created by and is owned by Erin Delanty. She launched Zoey's Attic in November 2006. She was inspired to create Zoey's Attic when she welcomed her first child, Bridget in August of 2006. Bridget became a big sister in May of 2008 and the inspiration continues. Personalized Pillow Case & Kindergarten Rocks T-Shirt!

Cade received a Personalize Pillow Case ($18ARV) and Kindergarten Rocks T-shirt ($16.50ARV). Cade's pillow case is a standard sized pillow case measuring 20" X 30", there are two other sizes available - Toddler/Travel which measures 12" X 16" and throw which measures 14" X 14". You can customize the name and even the design colors on the Choo Choo Train Pillow Case! How cool, hey? The pillow case is digitally printed in Erin's basement and stands the test of repeated washings. It is printed with eco-friendly water-based inks on a high quality pillowcase. Their awesome digital printer (which is also super expensive) actually dye the fibers of the material, permanently. So this pillowcase will have the same feel and look after countless pillow fights and washes! 

The Kindergarten Rocks T-shirt can also be personalized with the child's name on the back of the shirt, I chose not to have his name printed on the shirt. The t-shirts are digitally printed in Erin's basement as well. This means that the fibers of the shirt are actually dyed with eco-friendly water based inks and they are printed on a superior quality, super soft t-shirt for long lasting durability. Much better then iron on or heat transfer designs that fade and wear off rather quickly. And the rest stated above also goes for this t-shirt (and all of her other t-shirts and products). 

Cade absolutely loves his pillow case! He loves trains and recognized that it has his name on it. He helped me put the pillow case on his pillow and sleeps with it every night. I had to wash it the other day and he repeatedly asked me if it was done yet so he could put it back on his pillow. And of course, when it came out of the wash, there was NO difference in the design on it, no fading, nothing! I LOVE that it is digitally printed on as his bedding and pillow cases have to be washed quite frequently. I know this one will definitely hold up through the washes. The kids have pillow fights and their pillows are on the floor more often then they are actually on their beds, no issues as of yet and we've had this pillow case for about 2 weeks now. 

As for the t-shirt, Cade likes it and wanted to wear it the day after his birthday party when he received it. I want to try and keep it off of him until his first day of school. I'm not quite sure he understands that the first grade he'll be entering is Kindergarten, he just knows he's going to school with sissy and is super excited! I did try the t-shirt on him and it fits him perfectly. Due to his sensitive skin I wash all of his clothing before he wears it and the shirt had no fading or anything to the digital print just like the pillow case. I have not seen any other Back to School shirts like Zoey's Attic has and if there are any others out there, I doubt they are of such high quality and digitally printed with eco-friendly, water-based inks like this awesome t-shirt!

Moo Cow Momma - reusable Swiffer Wet Jet Mop Pads Review & Mop Pad Giveaway!

Reusable Swiffer Wet Jet Mop Pads 

Moo Cow Momma's Reusable Swiffer Wet Jet Mop Pads ($14.99/2) are sold in sets of two and are made of fleece and flannel with two strips of velcro along the top to attach to your Swiffer. The flannel on these are absorbent as well as great for grabbing onto and scrubbing away dirt while the fleece edges help to scrub the tough and stuck on dirt, food or spilled beverages. The fleece is also great for baseboards and low edges.

 
Barbara uses strong velcro that holds the mop pads on even while trying to scrub a touch spot on the floor. She double stitches the velcro on so that they will last longer. 

Once you've used your mop pads you can just toss them in the wash, no special washing instructions either! I rinsed mine in the sink first as my floor was pretty dirty! I had just gotten a new Swiffer after Ezio left my previous one on the floor and it was covered by some clothes he decided to take out of the dresser drawers... I accidentally stepped on the handle and broke it so for a while I had to wash my floor with just plain water that I would pour onto the floor. Anyhow... they rinsed out in the sink pretty nicely and I definitely could use them again after just a quick rinse in the kitchen sink.

The lighting in my kitchen is a bit bad for taking pictures. But I can definitely see a difference and in person it looked and felt a ton cleaner!

Repurpose was founded in 2009 by a group of young environmental entrepreneurs who were looking for quality solutions ot the problem of single use petroleum based plastic products. They did some searching and only found a few quality and cost competitive compostable solutions so they decided to manufacture their own. Repurpose was born with one mission, to replace all single use disposable plastics with high quality, innovative, plant based alternatives. Repurpose products are available to consumers as well as businesses so everyone gets the opportunity to lessen their carbon footprint, find non-toxic and safe alternatives to plastics.

Insulated Hot Cups

 Repurpose Compostable Insulated Hot Cups ($4.99ARV) are the greenest coffee cups in the world! These insulated hot cups hold 12 ounces and come in a 12 pack, including 12 lids and 12 cups. With the technology behind them they keep hot beverages warmer longer and prevent heat from escaping all while protecting the user from burning their hands and you don't even need a sleeve or to double cup! Other insulated cups are made by adding additional layers or paper, while Repurpose does do the same thing, it is done better with their patented insulation material on a single wall cup. These cups are also chlorine free and have soy-based inks on them.

 Cade was being my little helper, he wanted to demonstrate how to put the lid on. 

 "See mommy! I put the lid on it, but I need some juice it in now." -Cade. I love my big boy, he is such a big helper. Even though these are insulated hot cups, I did put some juice in one for him and he thought it was the coolest thing! Then he asked for chocolate milk in his insulated hot cup because I had hot chocolate in mine... guilty by association. The cup definitely helped keep my hot chocolate warmer for longer! I don't have any thermal travel coffee cups with a lid to help hold heat in, I only have a few ceramic coffee mugs and after about 5 minutes my hot chocolate is like watered down slightly flavored chocolate something or another. I'm not sure if I'm just weird or if hot chocolate really does taste that different when cold vs. hot. Anyhow, it kept my hot chocolate warm and delicious until it was gone! My hands didn't become hot and I didn't have to worry about the boys accidentally touching the side walls of the cup as if I were to use another paper or ceramic coffee cup. I really like these cups as well as Cade. 

Cold Cups

Repurpose Cold Cups ($3.99ARV) come in 20 packs of 12 ounce cups. These "plastic" cups are made from plants, not pretoleum, they are also certified compostable so it will break down in just a matter of months, not millenia! These high quality, convenient cups are definitely available at an affordable price, I was actually surprised that you get 20 - 12oz cups for only $4.99!
 

Okay, so I had a little fun with these aside from using them with their intended use... in middle and high school we used to make towers like this with plastic cups and then try to "collapse" the tower and have all the cups in just one or two stacks by sliding them all together, but without lifting them up. I'm not sure I've explained that well, probably didn't.

We have cook outs pretty often from spring til fall, if it's tolerable weather. We have used these cups at a few cook outs and the kids also like when I put their snacks in one. Cade has eaten Cheerios, small crackers, chips, etc out of a couple of these cups. As Cade is 3 years old, I also like to give him water from a big boy cup every now and then and he loves drinking water from these cups! He wouldn't be on a sippy cup anymore, but he is way to hyper and careless still. Ezio who is only 21 months old has even drank from these "big boy" cups.

So you may be wondering how sturdy these cold cups are if both of my toddlers were able to drink from them. Well, they are very sturdy, the sides do not collapse easily. In fact the kids didn't damage the cups until they accidentally stepped on one! In the past we've had plastic cups the caved in just when you held them gently. I was rather impressed by the quality and durability of these cups!

 Cutlery

Repurpose also has plastic utensils ($2.99ARV) that come in a 24 pack, with 8 spoons, 8 forks and 8 knives. These plastic utensils are different from your traditional plastic, disposable utensils as they are made from plants, not petroleum. These are also certified compostable, meaning they will break down in a just a matter of months. Repurpose uses a heat tolerant technology in their cutlery that helps them stand up to hot soups and other warm foods and still maintain their strength. These are also BPA FREE.

Before opening our box of utensils from Repurpose I doubted their strength, however as soon as I held one, I knew they were of great quality and durability. We also used these at our cook outs and Ezio ate lots of meals with these utensils. They do not break nor bend unlike tons of other plastic utensils we've used. Even ones that Ezio had dropped or tossed on the floor didn't break if someone stepped on it before noticing it was there.

Repurpose Compostable and Eco-Friendly products are of great quality and definitely durable enough for the whole family to use! I was pleasantly surprised by all of the above products ability to perform just the way they were designed to!

Skoy Eco-Friendly Cloth review & 4pk Giveaway US 8/9

Michelle and Karen, two stay at home moms living in Encinitas, California, shared the desire to create a cloth that was better than another cloth either of them had ever used, but one that was also environmentally friendly. They began doing a little research and were shocked to see how people were cleaning their kitchens, but even more shocked when they found out how many tons of paper towels were being used and filling up landfills (2.5 million tons annually). They had a little extra time to begin this journey as their children had just started elementary school. They researched their product for almost a year and such great passion for it because they believed it was the best thing out there. They didn't stop here though, they have two new Skoy products, Skoy Scrub and Skoy Sink Rail. They made these two products to complete all of the clean up tasks Skoy Cloth. 

Where did the name Skoy come from and what does it mean? 

They looked for a long time until they found a word that was their philosophy for their business. Skoj (pronounced Skoy) is the Swedish word for "just for fun". So how do you reuse something that is biodegradable?! 

Skoy Cloth is dishwasher and washer/dryer safe! It is quick drying cloth, unlike sponges they reek and are a breeding ground for bacteria, which will never happen with Skoy Cloth if microwaved regularly. Cleaning your Skoy Cloth will keep it and your family healthy and germ-free.

Skoy cloth has two different textures to it's two sides and is great for scrubbing even stuck on messes from nights before. I used one of my Skoy Cloths to scrub my stove top and it did an amazing job! 

As you can tell I am quite the messy cook, after cooking just one meal, my stove top often looks like it hasn't been cleaned for many days. 

I got my Skoy cloth wet, wow it is definitely absorbent! Skoy Cloth can hold up to 15% of it's weight, which is like taking 15 sheets of good quality paper towel, stacking them together and getting them wet, but Skoy Cloth is much softer and much better and easier to clean with. It took me maybe all of 3 minutes to scrub my stove top clean. Piece of cake! Nice white and squeaky clean stove top with no fuzz or pieces of paper towel or other towels left behind.

I also use Skoy Cloth to wash my dishes and scrub dirty hand prints and other things the kids decide to put on surface, off of walls, dressers, etc with no issue. No removing of the paint either, perfect because we are only renters!

Yummi Pouch Review & Giveaway US/CAN 7/31

Yummi Pouch was born in 2001 when they noticed that while numerous brands of disposable food pouches were available babies and young children there were hardly any reusable food pouches in existence. They wanted to provide families with a convenient container to fill with smoothies and healthy blended snacks for active children!  

Yummi Pouch can hold 6oz, has a stand-up bottom (awesome for filling the pouch), BPA & phthalate FREE, it is also eco-friendly, dishwasher and freezer safe as well as refillable and recyclable. It also has an extra wide easy-fill zipper opening, which really does help making filling the Yummi Pouch a lot easier! 

Ezio's love for Yummi Pouch!

We received a 6 pack of Yummi Pouches (ARV$14.99) and the first thing I noticed was the awesome wide opening at the top! I absolutely love the wide opening on the Yummi Pouch! Super easy to fill as the opening stays open enough to fit a spoon in pretty well! Plus most of the food I've put into our Yummi Pouch slides nicely off of the spoon right inside with no mess!! Super plus for a mommy of two toddlers, who often has at least one arm occupied by one of the boys! 

Yummi Pouches are super easy to rinse out and refill. Ezio often wants his pouch refilled immediately after finishing what I've just put in there so it is really nice that I'm able to rinse it quickly and refill with little fuss from him as he thinks it should happen instantly. 

It is so much easier and much less of a mess to put so many healthy snacks that Ezio absolutely loves into the Yummi Pouch! I don't always use this though, I do let him use a spoon to feed himself applesauce and not such runny foods every other time so he can master using a spoon as well. Ezio's loves eating yogurts, banana puree (he refuses to touch a banana), apple sauces and tons of other things we've tried in the Yummi Pouch. I had some original and natural applesauce cups which neither Cade nor Ezio would eat, so when I put Ezio's into the pouch, I added a few dashes of cinnamon, zipped the top closed and shook and squeezed back and forth on the Yummi Pouch to mix in the cinnamon. The zip lock closure top did not budge, allowing no applesauce to escape and when I opened the pouch the cinnamon was nicely spread through out the applesauce! Awesome! No need to dirty a bowl and spoon to mix in some added flavoring.

Sink Magic comes in three parts that easily connect together and also easily disconnect. Super easy "assembly" that anyone can do. Once your connected all three parts, then you push the plug, big round part, into your drain and start filling your sink. 

  

 As the sink was filling up I started to add dishes, you can wait until your sink is full though as with the SinkMagic your sink will not over flow because of the little slats at the very top, which help drain the excess water. 

 

 I have nearly all of our plates (that we own) in the sink. I still have the water running even though I have never allowed my sink to fill up this much other wise my floor becomes soaking wet from the over flow. I probably could have continued to run the water while washing the dishes with out having over flow, but that would have made the money saving aspect of the SinkMagic fly out the window. 

Usually when washing dishes I just wash under the running water with out soaking or anything like that. I left these dishes soak for about an hour while doing other things. I was pretty surprised to see that most of the food particles and other gunk was not sitting on top of the water. The little bit that was remaining was easily removed through the slats in the SinkMagic, all I did was gently push down a bit on it and the gunky water drained through the slats with out having to drain all of the water and then having to refill the sink. Saving time and money! As a mother of three children, two of them being toddlers this is a huge advantage for me! Thankfully my water was still warm allowing me to just wash in the already soapy water in the sink. I didn't have to really scrub any of the dishes even though some of them were from the night before! I wash able to wash them in the sink which was full to the rim with out any water on my counter or floor. Everything washed right off with ease.

 Clean dishes, super quick and probably the least amount of water used at least that I've ever used to wash dishes, which is thanks to the Eco-Friendly benefit of SinkMagic, which helps you save at least 40 gallons of water in one day. I was very pleased with the results of using SinkMagic.
