juDanzy 100% Cotton Muslin Swaddle Blanket & Extra Large Hair Bows Review

It all started in a spare bedroom and juDanzy is formerly known as My Little Legs (prior to July 2013). They upgraded to a garage before moving into a Florida style sunroom and then moved back into a larger garage. The last garage stay only lasted six months and then they were moving into their own office space since they were large enough to do so.

juDanzy offers so much more than leg warmers now. They have expanded their product inventory to also include hair bows, hats, socks, footless tights, diaper covers, blankets, bodysuits and dresses. They generously offer free shipping to their US customers as an added bonus. 

juDanzy Swaddle Blankets

We received the Red and Blue Muslin Swaddle Blankets 2 pack ($25ARV) from juDanzy. These blankets are 100% cotton muslin blankets and measure 45" by 45". Making them the perfect softness, warmth and size to swaddle your little squish or even big enough for your toddler to cuddle up with. They are lightweight and breathable, this helps reduce the risk of baby over heating. And unlike many other blankets, the more you wash these, the SOFTER they become! How awesome is that?

 

Even with my baby now being four years old, I love swaddle blankets! I typically love them more then any other child or adult blanket... well not as much as my poofy comforter, but you understand. What I've noticed with these swaddle blankets is that they warm baby up in winter, but they can even be used as a nice lightweight blanket in the hot summer due to them being breathable. There is no other blanket that I would want on or near me during the hot summer months other than a swaddle blanket. Ezio has to always sleep with a blanket, but doesn't care for sheets. These swaddle blankets make the perfect blankets for him even during the hot summer. I don't really worry about him getting too hot and he rarely wakes up sweaty when using one of these. 

These swaddle blankets are big enough for mom and baby to cuddle up and stay warm together, this has to be my number one favorite thing about these. We love to cuddle and I give off a lot of hot body heat and so does Ezio so often time even in the cold winters, we become too hot if we use heavier blankets.  Aside from this, the price is amazing! You receive two high quality 100% cotton muslin blankets for the price of one!

juDanzy Hair Bows

 We also received these two Extra Large Pink and Purple hair bows from juDanzy ($5ARV).  Each bow is roughly 5" in width and they are attached to a lead free alligator clip. My daughter loves hair bows and she quickly did her hair with these. She has always had a larger head, since birth, so I love that juDanzy offers larger hair bows.

juDanzy offers many beautiful hear bows including korkers and loopy loop hair bows. The korkers are my favorite. Check out all of the hair bows. 

They look a bit squished in the pic above, but once I took them off of the cardboard I was able to fluff them back up with no problems. The quality and craftsmanship of these bows is great, they have not fallen apart or frayed at all. Jada isn't always the most gentle with her hair accessories and often leaves them lay around, these have held up wonderfully through out it all. Ezio, the 4 year old destructive boy has even gotten a hold of them a few times and there has been no issue, thankfully.

10 First Birthday Party Ideas

 10 First Birthday Party Ideas!

It can be highly exciting to celebrate your baby’s first birthday. While it may seem as though no time has passed at all, your little bundle of joy has now been with you for one whole year and the time has come to mark the occasion. However, naturally, the logistics surrounding a first birthday party will differ quite a great deal from birthday parties held for older children. After all, your baby probably still isn’t able to hit a piñata or drink copious amounts of lemonade as a seven or eleven-year-old might.

Coming up with suitable ideas for the first birthday is thus something of a challenge for parents, and a very fun one too!

Remember!

Your child is still small, and this is probably their first party period, never mind their first birthday. So in the interests of keeping things from being too overwhelming, it may be an idea first of all to keep things small and relatively simple. Invite only a few friends and family to the occasion, and keep the occasion to a small part of the afternoon. Anything larger and more elaborate is both going to be more intimidating than entertaining for the baby, and is also something of a waste as well.

Does anyone really remember their first birthday? Then why place so much effort and money into something your child won’t even remember? You can afford to be understated for the first few years.

1. Keep it in the Home

As we mentioned before, a large party is really undesirable for a first birthday, so you can save some hassle and expense by keeping the party within the home. Your child is not going to be especially mobile at this age either, so you won’t need much space. It’s also familiar to them, so they’ll be more comfortable and able to enjoy themselves. If the weather’s fine, you can even have it in the garden.

2. Select a Theme

At one year of age, your child is slowly starting to develop a personality, as well as recognize and appreciate patterns. Use this as an opportunity to select a theme that your child might enjoy, and center the part around it a little. For example if they like animals, wrap presents up in paper with animals on it and bake cakes into animal shapes.

3. Go Out Somewhere Nice

There’s nothing to stop you from going out for your child’s first birthday either. While some one- year-olds may prefer to stay at home, others may derive excitement from being somewhere new and different. As such, taking them to a restaurant with friends and family is a perfectly viable idea. It also gives the adults a chance to relax and enjoy themselves as well.

4. Find Some Fun Games to Play

Naturally, as a small baby, you can’t expect them to take part in more traditional party games. Loud pops and bangs will frighten and upset them while other activities may involve dangerous choking hazards. However, that does not mean games are out of the question. There are a myriad of games you can play intended specifically for babies and toddlers, and it’s not impossible to alter the usual party fare so they’re more age appropriate.

Pin the tail on the donkey can easily be adjusted for a one-year-old. Simply remove the pin with an ordinary sticker, and place the donkey as a mat directly in front of the child. Their motor skills will probably as such that they’d still find it something of a challenge!

5. Set Finger Food By the Play Area

Keep the food simple and easily chewed, and avoid potential choking hazards such as hard candy, nuts or marshmallows. As your kids still won’t really have a concept of designated eating time as such, it’s often easier just to set a plate of food down on a mat near the play area. The children will eat as they play whenever it most conveniences them, and that’s all you really want.

Good food ideas include small-cut sandwiches with soft cheese and meat paste, small pieces of fruit and carrot sticks, yogurts, cubes of cheese, and potato chips. Remember that the smaller guests will probably not have all their teeth, so prepare accordingly.

6. Avoid Sugary Drinks

It’s a very bad idea to give toddlers soda and other fizzy drinks. The sugar will damage their growing teeth, and the chemicals may make them cranky. Instead, opt for water, fruit juice and milk. Make sure any fruit juice is diluted, again to protect teeth. Otherwise you may well be celebrating baby’s first cavities too!

7. Baby’s First Cake

The cake is the center of any birthday party, and a first birthday party is no exception. It’s popular amongst some to have a smaller, separate birthday cake specifically for the baby, as they’ll be more inclined to mash it than eat it. For this reason, use a cake with soft sponge and natural ingredients.

When lighting a candle, keep it a distance away from the baby when it’s time to blow it out. Be careful that they don’t grab the candle – coach them to blow instead, and keep a gentle but firm hold of their hands.

8. Have a Volunteer Take Photos and Video

With the excitement of the party, you may well be too busy to record the event yourself, especially as baby will want your full attention during the occasion. As such, make sure you have someone on hand to make sure that their first birthday party does not go unrecorded. The usual suspects include grandparents, the father, or a family friend.

Key events include, opening the presents, blowing out the candle, and eating (or smashing) the cake.

Also, with it being their first, you could capture a few photos of them in customized 1^st Birthday shirts, such as the ones offered at lil threadz. So that years later, when going through photos it’ll be easy to distinguish which birthday was being celebrated. 

9. Opt for Long Lasting Presents

If your baby is already not lacking for toys and games, then try to find a present that’s particularly useful and long-lasting. Something like a new buggy will find lots of use outside the playpen, and of course a baby can never have too many new clothes.

Especially useful gifts are those that will aid in their development and early learning. Walk-along toys will help them grow more confident with moving around, and it’s never too early to give kids (age appropriate) books. They’ll be doing a lot more growing over the next year, so make sure they’re prepared for it!

10. Let Your Baby Set the Pace

Remember: it’s their first birthday party, so by rights it’s theirs to enjoy. Arrange the party to fit in with their daily routine. If they nap in the afternoon and the morning, try holding it around lunch time. Make sure that the party does not last too long, after more than an hour and your baby may get bored or tired. Above all else, relax. Your child will probably be entertained enough on their own with just the presents, the food, and the attention. Just take the time to enjoy it and remember the day for the both of you.

Book Bundle!

I chose to build my own book bundle, I was able to choose five wonderful children's books in addition to the reusable storage container. I was given a $50 GC to facilitate my review. After the fact, I realized I could have actually ordered six books. Since any order over $49 has free shipping. With ordering the five books I was under $49 thus tacking on a $5 shipping fee. Had I ordered six books, I would have received free shipping and the sixth book would have been the same price as shipping. This is purely my own fault though and just goes to show why I should not order things when super tired. Oh well, we have five wonderful books and a sturdy storage container.

I've read to all three of my children since birth and the only book from my order that we have read is Goodnight Moon, all the rest are brand new reads to us. I chose these books because I felt they would be great books to read at both bedtime and through out the day when either my 5 year old or my 3 year old bring me books to read to them. 

How Sturdy is the Storage Container?

Since I ordered these books for my son, who just turned five, I used the storage container as his gift box for all of his presents from us. I didn't think to take a picture of what all fit in the box (it was packed full), while still in their packages, but it did fit quite a bit. He is currently using the storage box to hold all of his new coloring books, coloring pads, markers, crayons and of course his new books from IncrediBundles. He likes his things to stay in their original packaging when possible, so I am very pleased that this container is as sturdy as it is.  For him, since I put all of his Birthday presents from us in this box, this is where they belong. Until he either finds new containers for some of his stuff or I put them else where. He's content and I'm fine with him doing so, so his items will stay in this box. He's opening and closing and taking stuff out and putting stuff back in the box many times a day and it is showing no wear through nearly a week now. I also love that the box has snaps on both ends so you can take it apart and it lays pretty flat for easy storing of the storage box if you don't currently want to use it.

All of the books arrived in pristine condition, no creased pages, no roughed up corners, etc. The storage box as well arrived in pristine condition with no evidence of sitting around and getting scuffed or anything of the sort. This is definitely a package I'd be happy with presenting as a present at a baby shower, 1st Birthday, etc. I may be a weirdo, but I like the gifts I give to look as thought the receiver just pulled them off the shelf, with three kiddos at home, that doesn't always happen. You could have an IncrediBundles delivered right to your recipients front door and not have to worry about the condition of the package. The storage container is of course shipped within a solid cardboard box to help protect all of your goods through shipping. My sister lives out of state, but when she has her first baby, I look forward to sending her an IncrediBundles.

 The kids approve of all the books we received. Cade attempts to read them on his own and doesn't do too bad, Ezio makes up a story based on the photos and of course Jada gets sucked into reading them books...okay, well she loves to read to them. Since Cade and Jada are on summer break she takes the box of books into the bedroom and lays on the bed to read to the boys at least three times through out the day. She loves to read and since Cade is learning to read he's finally taking an interest in reading books. Prior to this past year he really only cared for iSpy type books and boy is he amazing at them and memorizes them after looking at them once. Lets hope he has the same success with words and reading.

Eluandas' Elu Clips (Kids Elastic Snap Belts) Review & Giveaway! US 3/15

About Eluandas

Eluandas' is a WAHM owned shop, run by Eva who has been sewing for many years. Eva has even sewn prom and wedding dresses! Eva's children are all skinny and tall making it hard to find pants that fit and stay at their waists. She has experienced the difficulty of finding the adjustable elastic waist bands in pants for older children, so she created her Elu Clips. 

Eluandas' came to life when a friend of Eva's started a photography business. Eva asked her friend if she would like for her to embroider her a business shirt, Eva made her ten shirts and that was her first customer. Before this she always sewed for her children and herself. Her friend insisted that she open her shop to share her talent with all of us. 

Kids Elastic Snap Belts - Elu Clips

Elu Clip ($9.95ARV) is a multi size adjustable 1-inch baby, toddler or kids belt that securely clips to the front loops of your child's pants. Elu Clips have plastic snaps and easily adjusts for multiple sizes on each belt. They are a colorful and bright new elastic belt idea for children. 

Elu Clips come in five different sizes, including extra small for newborn through size 4. I know I could have definitely used an Elu Clip for my kiddos pants, especially once we started to cloth diaper and they needed a larger size pants to fit over the bulk, but then the waist was too large, Elu Clips would have made a world of a difference. 

When purchasing your Elu Clips, you'll have a choice between 17 different snaps, 12 of which are round and 5 are heart shaped, or you can even choose multiple colors.
