Gimbal's Fine Candies was founded in 1989 by Alexander Gimbal, the first Gimbal Candy Kitchen was in downtown San Francisco. Allergy Friendly Candies!
Gimbal's candies are allergy friendly, they are 100% free of peanut, tree nut, gluten, dairy, soy and egg. These ingredients are responsible for countless allergic reactions across the nation. We love Gimbal's since they are safe for Ezio. He is allergic to tree nuts, peanut, egg, coconut, sesame, cinnamon, and a few others so we are very thankful for companies who take allergies into consideration when creating their products.
Our Review of Gimbal's Fine Candies
We received three bags of Gimbal's Fine Candies; Gourmet Jelly Beans, Sour Gourmet Jelly Beans and Sour Lovers (heart shaped).
The Gourmet Jelly Beans have 41 flavors! These were created in an exquisite array of colors and are packed with antioxidant Vitamin C and burst with real juice and intense flavor from the delicate shell to the chewy center. These Gourmet Jelly Beans are available a 3 oz or 14 oz package as well as a 40 oz jar. With these tasty 41 flavors you can try various combinations or "recipes" for a gathered taste. I ate quite a few of theGourmet Jelly Beans and I didn't come across any bad or gross tasting ones and I assume the children loved all of the flavors as well since I didn't find any spit out. Even Cade who is very picky loved these jelly beans! Since finishing this bag, Cade has asked me to get more. Ezio also loves them a ton, plus they are one of few safe snacks that I can give to Ezio.
The Sour Gourmet Jelly Beans were also delicious and that was the first bag to be emptied by our family. Cade really likes sour candies. I have longed for a sour candy and while all of them did not make me pucker a few caught me totally off guard and I may have even made a funny face.The Sour Lovers were definitely great.
Halloween Treats
For Halloween this year I will be purchasing some more Gimbal's Fine Candies. There is a Teal Pumpkin Project, we will have a Teal Pumpkin proudly displayed for the other families with allergies to know that we are a safe place for them to get candy or other treats. I am planning on bagging up some of Gimbal's candies in Halloween themed baggies and passing those out to children with food allergies (if requested by their parent or themselves).
These would also make for a great treat to send to school with your child if someone in their class has a food allergy. Ezio is not yet in school, but I hope next year when he starts that he wont have to be completely excluded from parties and such due to his list of allergens. This is the main reason I am striving to send safe treats and snacks for all students.
