Frosch Environmentally Friendly Cleaning Products Review

Disclosure: I received these products for free from the sponsor of the Moms Meet program, May Media Group LLC, who received them directly from the manufacturer. As a Moms Meet blogger, I agree to use this product and post my opinion on my blog. My opinions do not necessarily reflect the opinions of May Media Group LLC or the manufacturer of the products.

Frosch
Werner & Mertz launched the Frosch brand in 1986 with the intentions of offering environmentally friendly cleaning products that were able to compete with traditional cleaning brands without compromise. For the past 15 years Frosch has been voted Germany's Most Trusted Brand by Reader's Digest and has finally established itself as a mainstream brand. Frosch is available all throughout Germany and has a loyal following in many export countries around the world, it is now just now available in the USA!

The environment is taken into consideration in every aspect of Frosch including production, ingredients and packaging. They have a stat-of-the-art research facility which is constantly working on improving further on it's formulations and maintains a very strict criteria for the formulations of new products. These productions take place under the strict EMAS scheme of the European Union, a voluntary scheme with strict, company-wide environmental requirements.

Frosch Dish Washing Liquid
Frosch offers four dish washing liquids, Pomegranate, Aloe Vera, Baking Soda and ProVitamin ($3.99ARV/EA). I received the Aloe Vera and Pomegranate dish washing liquids to review. I like both, but I definitely love the pomegranate. The pomegranate dish washing liquid contains pomegranate extracts that sooth and moisturize the skin and provide an effective clean with it's optimal grease and dirt dissolving power. The Aloe Vera dish washing liquid is ideal for people with sensitive skin due to the calming effects of Aloe Vera extracts, which help to maintain the moisture balance in the skin while cleaning your dishes and leaving a mild and fresh scent.

I will admit that I was a bit nervous about using a more natural and environmentally friendly dish washing liquid, I've been a fairly loyal customer of Dawn dish soap. Frosch has not disappointed me at all, I was quite surprised by the cleaning power and grease cutting action from the Frosh dish washing liquid. There has not been a single dish, pot or pan that I have not been able to get clean since I started using Frosch. I haven't had to allow any dishes to soak for hours or over night, they all come clean with hot water, Frosch and rarely some elbow grease.

It's now winter and pretty chilly, our house gets dry during the winter and makes our skin dry, cracked and itchy. I have had nice and moisturized hands while using Frosch dish washing liquid. No redness, minimal itching and they are still pretty soft. All great things for a mom who is constantly washing dishes, washing the table off, etc.

I have also greatly enjoyed using the other Frosch products that I received in addition to the dish washing liquid. The baking soda cleaner ($4.50ARV) was great for washing the lip stick and tooth paste off of the bathroom vanity mirror as well as for washing down the counter tops and kitchen table. I can't wait for Dan to clean our toilet with the Lemon Toilet Bowl Cleaner ($4.99ARV), the toilet is his job. The Bio Spirit Glass Cleaner ($4.50ARV) has been wonderful on our windows as well as our two glass doors, this probably would have also cleaned the lip stick and tooth paste off of the walls, but I knew for sure the baking soda would. The Lavender Universal Cleaner ($5.99ARV) will be perfect for mopping my kitchen, hallway and bathroom floors as well as my hardwood flooring through out the rest of my house.

Guest Post: 8 Great Ways to Go Green this Fall!

Great Ways to Go Green this Fall
Disclosure: I am not the author of this article nor was I compensated for publishing it.
Author: Victoria Candland

As more people become aware of the damages that our happening to our environment—from the ozone creating global warming to plows destroying rainforests to factories contaminating water—more people want to become involved in “going green”. Going green, or rather being more aware of one’s impact on the environment and consciously taking steps to prevent further damage, is a step that everyday people can undertake.

But, many people are at a loss on how to be “more green”. We understand that we shouldn’t keep the lights on in rooms we’re not using and to recycle plastics and cardboard, but what else? And what can we do this fall to implement that way of life into our daily routine?

We have the answers for you.
Here are eight great ways you can go green this autumn season:

1. Fewer Errand Trips

Do you find yourself coming home from the grocery store only to remember you forgot to buy beans for the chili you’re making and then you have to go right back? Try to consolidate your errands as much as possible to save on gas. You could also run errands with a friend if your schedules match. If the location is close enough, try walking or riding your bike to get in some exercise and enjoy the beautiful autumn colors. When you go to the grocery store, or even a clothing store, bring cloth bags with you so you don’t have to collect plastic bags.

2. Cloth Rags
You may be a neat freak, but you can be one without adding waste to the local landfills. Instead of using paper towels to wipe up melted Halloween chocolate or Thanksgiving gravy smeared on the kitchen counter top, use cloth rags. This will save you a lot of money and a lot of paper.

3. Lower Thermostat Temperature
Even though fall comes with declining temperatures, you can bundle up in ways that prevent the thermostat heat from going up too high. Put a sweater and some socks on or light your fireplace. Remember to turn the heat down when you leave the house—there are even thermostats that can be turned down from your phone when you’re away. Keeping the temperature at a moderate level will make your wallet and the environment happy.

4. Autumn Closet Cleaning
Go through your closet and pinpoint the summer clothes you didn’t wear all season. If you didn’t wear that paisley summer dress at all this summer, then it’s probably ready to be let go. Instead of throwing your clothes away, re-purpose them for something else like cleaning rags or craft projects. You could also donate them. Clean out your kids’ closets as well.

5. Compost
You might be wondering what on earth to do with all of the fallen leaves in your backyard. You can rake them up and use them to create compost. Or if you live in a place where it snows, you could winterize your flower garden using fallen leaves as mulch to create a layer of protection for your bulbs. Ash from your fireplace can also be added to the compost pile.

6. Halloween Costumes
You don’t need to buy brand-new Halloween costumes for them to be fabulous. Instead, have your kids recycle Halloween costumes that were used in previous years or use recyclable material for them like newspaper or cardboard boxes. You could make an amazing robot costume out of cardboard boxes and metallic paint. If you’re missing some parts to your costume, go to the local consignment store to complete the outfit instead of buying new materials. For Halloween decorations, use locally grown pumpkins and carve them for your displays. Let your kids join in on the pumpkin carving fun.

7. Leaks
Make sure you check for leaks in your pipes and faucets before the cold settles in to prevent bursting and flooding in the middle of winter. Also, wrap your water heater in an insulating blanket.

8. Skiing and Snowboarding Gear
In many places across the United States, snow has already fallen by the first of November. You know what that means—that ski season has officially started. Carpool with family or friends to the slopes and wear hand-me-down snow pants, goggles, or other ski gear. Prepare your equipment with green materials like waxing your snowboard with wax made from soybeans or other natural materials like this one from Lib Tech.
Going green is much simpler than you think and it requires small and uncomplicated changes to your lifestyle. Try incorporating at least three of these techniques into your routine this fall and the environment will thank you.

Graco Recall & How to Clean Your Graco Harness Buckle!

Graco

As I am sure you have probably heard on the news, from family and friends or even seen posted on Facebook or other social media sites that Graco has issued a recall for 3.7 million car seats manufactured and sold between 2009 and July of 2013. This recall is due to the buckles sticking and potentially causing a risk of your child being trapped in the seat.

The models affected and under this recall are as follows: Toddler Convertible Car Seats: Cozy Cline, Comfort Sport, Classic Ride 50, My Ride 65, My Ride 70, My Ride 65 with Safety Surround, Size4Me 70, My Size 70, Head Wise 70, Smart Seat. Harnessed Booster Seats: Nautilus 3-in-1, Nautilus Elite and Argos.

Read more of Graco's recall here for additional information. Through that link or this one you can also order your FREE replacement harness buckle.

We have the Graco MyRide65 for Cade and I will be trying some of the cleaning solutions below while awaiting my replacements to arrive. These cleaning tips are safe to do as I learned about them directly from Graco.

Tips for properly cleaning your buckle from Graco.
  • To clean your buckle, turn the restraint over and push the retainer through the harness strap slot. Place the buckle in a cup of warm water and gently agitate the buckle, pressing the red button several times while it is in the water.
  • Do not submerge the harness webbing and do not use soaps or lubricants, only rinse the harness buckle with warm water.
  • Shake out the excess water and allow the harness buckle to air dry.
  • Reattach the harness buckle into the same slot and re-check harness for correct installation according to the car seat manual before use.

Do you have a Graco car seat? Was it part of the recall?
If so, will you be trying any of these tips or will you just wait until your replacement arrives?

This is not a sponsored post, does not contain affiliate links nor was I provided anything in exchange for this post.
