Vintage Key and Green Glass Bead Necklace Review

I received a vintage key and green glass bead necklace from Clare's Etsy Shop - Mylana.
My ABSOLUTELY BEAUTIFUL necklace came wrapped in pink tissue paper and it was inside of this pretty pink Organza bag, which was slightly scented with perfume!
If you haven't already guessed by how often I use this color... but green is my absolute favorite color! And I absolutely love the green and black beads on this necklace. As much as I love green, the green bead is not my favorite part of this necklace.

The Vintage Key, truly is vintage! Clare, the owner of Mylana he informed me that she found the vintage keys at a local hardware store in Tennessee. They were on a sale table with some other odds and ends. The Hardware store informed Clare that they found these keys in the basement and they are over 30 years old! I absolutely LOVE that this is a true vintage key and not just a key that appears to be vintage that you can pick up at most craft stores!

When I received this necklace I put it on Immediately! I was sitting outside with the kids and my mom, who lives in the upper of the duplex seen it and keeps asking when she can wear it.

Please check out Clare's Etsy Shop! She also sells soaps, candies, melting tarts, bracelets, earrings, etc!! So many wonderful things to check out.
The Vintage Key w/Glass Beads Necklaces are only $17.00, what a great price!

Changing Diapers Book Review!

Changing Diapers

I was so excited when I received my copy of Changing Diapers by Kelly Wels!! This book is absolutely amazing, I wish I would have been able to read it before I started cloth diapering. There are so many helpful tips, information, etc. I LOVE that the book is 6.5 X 6.5 and paperback, fits PERFECTLY in all three of my different sized diaper bags, for an easy read on the go. Changing Diapers is 248 pages of full color.

A bit about the author herself!
Changing Diapers was written by Kelly Wels, a cloth diaper expert and advocate! In November, 2010  Kelly founded, which she calls her "passion project". Kelly was previously known by her peers as the founder and owner of and, which are two popular online cloth diapering stores. In the summer of 2010, Kelly decided to turn her business over to new owners and pursue her advocacy passion full-time, with out the constant pressure of running a multi-million dollar business. Read more about Kelly HERE.

My review!!
EVERYONE should read this book... whether you are interested in cloth diapering, unsure about it or already doing so! I am still fairly new to cloth diapering, I started in February 2012. I thought I knew quite a bit about cloth diapering until reading this book and realized... I really didn't know much!! I have learned so much about the different types and styles of diapers, different terminology in the cloth diapering world, how to use other diapers that I have been wondering about, etc! We are going on vacation towards the end of June and I have been so nervous about traveling with two boys in diapers and how I was going to handle being somewhere out of the norm. How many diapers do I take with? Do I take them all? There is a chapter in the book that covers Traveling with Cloth Diapers, what a HUGE help this has been and it answered all of my questions about traveling while cloth diapering!!

Did you know there are actually LAWS about cloth diapering in a child care facility?! I had NO CLUE until I read Changing Diapers!! I was always wondering why on mommy boards there were moms discussing how their child's daycare refused to use cloth diapers. Does your state have a law against the use of cloth diapers in the day cares?

This book informs you on how to wash your cloth diapers and even wool! It helps you know what you will all need to start cloth diapering, how many diapers per child, etc, etc.

I HIGHLY recommend this book to ANY and ALL parents who are interested in and/or already cloth diapering.  Yes, parents! Not just mommy, but daddy can also read this book and maybe if daddy reads the book as well, he will feel more confident on partaking in the physical changing of the diapers.

Please take a moment to check out If you are interested in purchasing this book, which is on sale for $11.98 OR a 2pk (would be a great gift for a new expecting mother) for $21.96, you may click on the button in the upper left hand corner of Mami's 3 Little Monkeys blog under "Affiliates"!

Second Annual Flats and Handwashing Challenge!!!

I am taking part in the Second Annual Flats and Handwashing Challenge hosted by Dirty Diaper Laundry.  For 7 days I will be using only flat cloth diapers and handwashing them in an effort to prove that cloth diapering can be affordable and accessible to all.  You can learn more about the rules and why this challenge was started by visiting the announcement post.  This year there are over 450 participants from all over the world!

This starts TOMORROW!!! I'm excited, but also a bit nervous as both of my boys are heavy wetters, I have not purchased anything for this event. I will be using 24 flats that I received from a lady several months ago, 3 Small (for EJ) and 2 Medium (for CJ) handmade covers that I received from another cloth diapering mama several months back when I first started CDing. I also have some Tide original powder detergent that I have and was using before switching to the Rockin' Green laundry detergent (see my review for Rockin' Green HERE).

My biggest fear about the Flats Challenge is that I wont be able to rinse the flats and covers well enough and my boys have super sensitive skin and eczema. If they develop a rash I may have to "drop-out" of the Flats and Handwashing Challenge. When I began cloth diapering, the first detergent I used was the Tide original powder that I am using for this challenge, it caused CJ (older of the boys) to have a horrible diaper rash so he had to go back in disposables until I worked up the courage to try cloth again on him with the Rockin' Green detergent. I'm hoping if I RINSE RINSE RINSE then he will do fine. I wasn't rinsing as much when I first started cloth diapering as I am now when using a washer, so fingers and toes are crossed!

Are any of my readers taking part in the Flats and Handwashing Challenge?! Good luck to those of you who are! I will be doing daily blog updates!

Slap Watch Review!

Slap Watch!
SLAP. If it doesn't say Slap, it's not a Slap Watch
I received two Slap Watches to review.
One is an Original Firecracker SLAP watch and the other is a Bermuda Breeze SLAP JR watch! I like both of the watches, but I felt the Original SLAP watch was too big or wide for my wrist, I preferred the JR SLAP watch, it felt better on my wrist and it looked better.
SLAP original firecracker watch on my wrist.

SLAP JR Bermuda Breeze watch on my wrist.
SLAP watches are so awesome even, not only do my six year old daughter and two year old son love them, but my 15 year old brother wants my FIRECRACKER watch!! Every time he sees me he asks if he can have it, his birthday is coming up in June so I'm thinking about "surprising" him with it at his party.
My 15 year old brother wearing the Original Firecracker SLAP watch.
My daughter liked the Bermuda Breeze JR SLAP watch and so did my two year old son. They both also wanted their photos taken wearing the SLAP watches, however... kind of hard to get a two year old to hold still to take the picture... so here is what I was able to get.
CJ playing w/the JR SLAP watch (w/a dirty face)
The JR SLAP watch Bermuda Breeze on JJ's arm
Slap watches come in a LARGE variety of colors and even patterns!! Go check them out!
  • The watch faces pop out easily
  • Easy to set the correct time
  • Durable (my two year old has been playing with them since we got them about a week ago)
  • Two sizes, Original & JR, to help better fit all ages
  • Easy to clean w/o damaging watch face
  • So cool even a 15 year old wants one!
  • When slapping the watch onto you wrist it CAN sting a bit
SLAP Original $19.95
SLAP Bling $24.95
SLAP Wild $29.95

Slice Safety Cutter & Precision Cutter Review

I received two Slice Safety Cutter and the Precision Cutter to review.
About Slice Cutter

The Slice™ Safety Cutter is the most versatile tool you'll ever own. Features a finger-friendly microscopic ceramic blade that's quick, easy and a safe substitute for scissors or traditional safety knives. Slice Safety Cutters are perfect for scrap-booking, clipping recipes, coupons and news articles, removing shrink-wrap, opening CDs, DVDs, plastic packaging, and more. Includes a built-in magnet and key-ring hole.

- Ceramic blade lasts longer than steel
- Stays sharp and never rusts
- Built-in magnet and key-ring hole
- Rubberized non-slip finish
- Finger-Friendly™ Design
- For left- and right-handers

Perfect for Couponers!

My review for Slice Safety Cutter

The Slice Safety Cutter was so easy to use! I cut out a photo from the local newspaper and there was very little marks on the next page. It's not cut perfectly straight, but I'm not very good at perfectly straight lines whether it be drawing them or cutting them, so that is more then likely due to me. I can't wait to get a new movie or something with those annoying plastic sticky seals over the tops and sometimes sides of the case, the Slice Safety Cutter will make opening new movies and games a BREEZE! The ceramic blade is small enough that it will (should, if I can manage to cut straight)simply glide down the middle of the sticky seal. Scissors are too wide and often scrape up the plastic case. The only thing I am wondering about with this product is, will the very little ceramic cutting tip stay sharp FOREVER? It never wears down?
To purchase the Safety Cutter for $5.99 CLICK HERE!

About the Precision Cutter

The Slice™ Precision Cutter features a high-tech Zirconium Oxide blade that lasts longer than steel and never rusts. An artful combination of function and style with a distinct respect for ergonomics.

- Safer than craft knives
- Stays sharp and never rusts
- Ideal for intricate shapes
- For use by left- and right-handers

Design by Karim Rashid.
2008 Good Design Award Winner: Chicago Athenaeum Museum of Architecture & Design

My Review of the Precision Cutter

The Precision Cutter is as well an easy product to use and I absolutely love that it has a cover for the blade. To try out the Precision Cutter I drew a tree and cut it out. It was quicker to use the Precision Cutter rather then a pair of scissors. I did find though, that to get a smooth rounded edge it was better to allow the Precision Cutter to turn as well so the blade was continuously pulled straight. Now I do realize I am not the best as drawing, but bare with me and my tree, star and heart that I cut out with the Precision Cutter pictured below.
I will definitely be using the Precision Cutter to cut out things JJ and myself color and draw this summer. This will also make cutting the Box Tops off the juice bottles easier, rather then fighting with plastic labels that often rip off weird and rip the Box Top in half. I will no longer have to remove the label before cutting the box top off. If you use a Precision Cutter I DO recommend putting just one sheet of paper, a cutters mat, or something under what you are cutting, I can feel small and very few scratches in the laminated keyboard tray on the desk, but they are there.
To purchase the Slice Precision Cutter for $7.99, CLICK HERE!
Be sure to check out Slice's other products! I have told my mother about the Box Cutter as she does home repairs, remodeling, etc.

Picky Sticky Review

Picky Sticky!
About Picky Sticky
Picky Sticky started when our daughter was born. Each week I wrote her age on a piece of paper and then took her picture sitting next to it. As time passed I got a little more creative and dressed it up a bit with designs, using all the power Microsoft Word could muster.
As she was getting older it was getting harder for her to sit still. That is when I saw some cute onesies with iron-on transfers that were pretty expensive. I didn’t know what size she was going to be at each stage and at that point the idea of using a sticker popped into my head. Thus, Picky Sticky was born.
As avid fans of photography, we enjoy keeping our family history. Having a collection of photos of each milestone really put into perspective how much our babies changed and how fast time flew by. We are so glad we have these photos to remember our growing children.

 My Review
I received the Creature Feature pack of Picky Sticky to review. I LOVE this idea! I tried them out on EJ who is 4 months old.
I tried them out on the red onesie EJ has on and the red was too dark in the back, I just always seen them on a white onesie and wanted to give something different a try. So then I tried them on a yellow tank top and it was still pretty dark, but a bit better.
Since the Picky Sticky was still a bit dark and hard to see on the yellow tank top I gave in and used a white onesie.
I plan to continue to post monthly picture of EJ with the Picky Sticky until he reaches a year old. Picky Sticky will make it so much easier when looking back through photos to know how old he was in them instead of having to guess or hope that they were uploaded to the computer during the correct months and year of each photo like I have to do with JJ and CJ's photos.

Picky Sticky would be great for a new or expectant mother, they have them in all different themes and colors for, baby boys, baby girls and surprise gender. In sets for Birth to one year and also sets for one year to two years old. They have some for First Milestones, numbers 0-12 that do not say "months", "Belly Stickers" for expectant mothers, which are super cute! Wish I knew about these when I was pregnant! Or if you are unsure what the expecting mother or someone with a little baby would want for the theme or color you can purchase a gift certificate and allow them to purchase their own.

If you would like to purchase Picky Sticky for your baby you can do so HERE!
