Since 2005, GelaSkins has built their reputation on devoting their efforts to curating a gallery of art by award-winning illustrators, old master, up-and-coming artists and charitable organizations. A portion of each skin, case or print that is sold goes directly to it's creator! This helps to support and promote independent artists everywhere. GelaSkins headquarters is located in Toronto and they help foster global creativity.

Vincent van Gogh - Starry Night 17" Laptop Skin
Vincent van Gogh (1853-1890) was a Dutch Post-Imprssionist artist. He did not begin his career as an artist until 1880, he initially worked in somber colors. His paintings and drawings are some of the world's best-known as well as the most expensive pieces. During the last ten years of his life he produced all of his more then 2,000 works and most of his best known works of arts he created during his final two years of life.
I absolutely love Vincent van Gogh's Starry Night painting! So of course I had to choose the Starry Night 17" Laptop Skin from GelaSkin ($30). I love it and am so pleased with it. The quality of the art work as well as the "stickiness" of the skin are perfect. With having two toddler boys who love to pick at things, I'd say it is quite sticky seeing as how they have not even peeled up a single corner. The sassy kittens love chewing on the edges of my laptop for some reason, I'm sure if it's the warmth or just because they are still babies, but I see no damage to GelaSkin! Before applying the skin, Jedilynn and Cade has stuck stickers all over my laptop. Although I did remove all of the stickers themselves, their stickiness did not come off so nicely. Despite this, you can't even really tell there is still slight imprints of these stickers on the laptop.
The above picture was taken by my 1 year old when he was being sneaky with my camera, I love the angel and everything of this shot of my laptop and Starry Night GelaSkin that he captured! Way better then the one I would have taken. I really wish I could afford an official or the original painting of Starry Night, however, at the moment this GelaSkin is definitely fulfilling in that regard as well.
A Curious Embrace - Kindle Skin
This awesome Kindle Fire Skin called A Curious Embrace ($20ARV) was created by Nanami Cowdroy from Melbourne, Australia. The reason I chose this piece for my Kindle Fire is because it somewhat resembles Cthulhu from H.P. Lovecraft. Plus, it's just an all around awesome design.
My Kindle Fire is currently missing... sad day! If and when I find it, I've searched high and low and in between... I will upload a photo of the GelaSkin on my Kindle Fire. I was so excited when I received it and that was shortly lived as I could not for the life of me find my Kindle Fire. Oh well, I'm sure it will turn up somewhere.
GelaSkins has so much beautiful art work for so many different devices it can be challenging to choose your favorite. Do you know what you'd definitely choose from GelaSkins (art work and for which device)?

ReplyDeleteBaobab Silhouette for Galaxy S 4
ReplyDeleteI would get the Carina, Carina for my laptop
ReplyDeleteI like the Brian Viveros Viva La Muerte for my laptop
ReplyDeleteThere are so many cases that I LOVE that it's so hard to choose, so I chose the first one I liked.
ReplyDeleteGalaxy S III Hard Case My World
Not to copy you, but I also LOVE The Starry Night (to the point that I have a framed print of it hanging in my living room and I went to NYC to see it in person!), but if I were more original I'd pick the Escher print. Either way, it'd be for my Samsung Galaxy S4, since my laptop isn't in the list. :(
