Elizabeth Truong, the author of Sara & Geoffrey lives in Palm Beach Gardens, Florida with her husband and children. She is inspired to save the world by her mother, Lien. Lien is an immigrant and a single mom who put eight children through college. After Lien retired, she dedicated herself to help people less ofrtunate. Lien tirelessly finds ways to raise money and has been giving every penny away to hospitals, orphanages and other organizations. Elizabeth hopes to follow in her mom's foot steps to make a difference in the world. "Growing up, as immigrants from Vietnam, my family had nothing. I can still remember our excitement when we received our first bag of used clothes from the Salvation Army. I was overwhelmed with joy. I want to pay it forward by encouraging kids and parents to have fun while helping others." --Elizabeth

 Elizabeth grew up in Boston and went to UMASS Amherst for her BS and was a recipient of a full scholarship at Babson College for her MBA. She is currently a Chief Investment Officer of a one billion dollar privately held multi-family investment group. She is also a sustainer with the Junior League of the Palm Beaches and is a proud mentor in the mentoring program for Children's Home Society of Florida.

The Sara & Geoffrey idea came to Elizabeth when she went shopping with her daughter for a Halloween costume. Her daughter was 3 years old at that time. She saw a Super Girl outfit and immediately only wanted that one. Once home, her daughter was so excited. She put on the outfit and jumped around saying "I want to go save the world, mommy! Come on, let's go." She was insistent on going outside to knock on everyone's door to see what she could do to help them. She had never seen a superman show before yet somewhere and somehow she wanted to go save the world. Elizabeth's son is just as enthusiastic like other children his age. All he wants to do is wear his cape and run around with special powers.  

 
About the Illustrator

Korey Scott specializes in illustrations for children's books, educational material and funny characters. His illustration style is perfect for capturing the attention of children and adults. Lorey is proud to say that his illustrations and children's books are not only fun to look at, but they also provide a beneficial resource to a child's education. Children love the playful details and silly characters while adults enjoy how the illustrations encourage children to read, learn and have fun. His work has won awards such as "Best Children's Book" at the 2007 North Texas Book Festival and the Folen Spur Honor Award from the Texas State Reading Association (TSRA) in 2005. Teachers also enjoy using his material for class projects.
When he is not drawing and many times when he is you can find him spending time with his wide Kelly, poking fun at his two dogs, trying to make people laugh and speaking Spanish.

We received the Sara & Geoffrey Donate Clothes 25 page paperback book ($11.95). Sara & Geoffrey Donate Clothes is a pretty easy read and great for children! It helps teach them ways they can help other children. Donate Clothes touches base on all the seasons and the things to donate for those seasons. Jedilynn is six years old and in first grade, she loves reading this book! There are only maybe a handful of words she needed help with. It is a great way to get your child to willingly want to go through their old clothes and send them to a child in need. We have been going through her clothes that no longer fit and made a donation to a local church. We also showed her the clothing donation boxes around the city, so now when we are driving if she sees one she says, "Oh mom, we forgot to bring some clothes to put in the donation center!". Her school just had a food drive and she brought in a huge bag of canned goods, even things she likes were in her donation bag! I am quite the proud mama! She is also in Daisy Girl Scouts and one of their missions was to bring in a single clothing item for a child less fortunate, she picked out and brought in on her own, several outfits to donate. If she is getting dressed and something doesn't fit she puts it in the donation box we have here at home.

  Before Smoobee Magic No Cry Hairbrush it was a NIGHTMARE to brush my daughters hair. She is hispanic and her hair is curly and super thick! We have tried every detangler at our local stores, every hair brush, comb and even picks! Nothing has ever made her hair so easy and painless to brush through. It was so bad, her and I agreed it was time for a hair cut as her hair was down to her butt. We had to wake up earlier just to brush her hair. We tried washing her hair before bed, brushing it and putting it into a braided pony tail and then wrapping her hear in a bandana, but that didn't even help her hair to be more manageable in the morning. I spoke with hair stylist, customer service representatives in the healthy & beauty sections of our local stores and none of them had effective advice. We also tried layering and thinning her hair, but still no luck.

Since we received Smoobee Hairbrush I have decided it will be okay for Jedilynn to finally be able to grow her hair out again and have it past shoulder length. She also brought it up to me on her own one morning while I was brushing her hair that she wants to just let her hair grow out now!!! She was always getting it cut short as she knew that would reduce the pain of having her hair brushed. I am so happy we discovered Smoobee and have been able to give it a test drive! 

I use our Smoobee to brush my own hair as well, mine is much thinner/lighter then Jedilynn's hair, but mine still get all tangled up just from me looking left to right, the slightest movement of my hair and I have tangles in my hair. I can definitely say for sure that the Smoobee Magic No Cry Hairbrush is in fact MAGIC!! 

Cleaning the Smoobee is super easy. Just pull all of the hair out of the brush, then to clean the synthetic boar bristles just get the bristles damp (not the wood of the brush!) and then smack against a towel or even paper towel, that will remove any dandruff or hair care products from the brush. 

The brush is easy to hold and brushes through hair smoothly! We have not had any of the tips come off of any of the nylon bristles, with previous hair brushes we have tried the tips always come off after two or three times of using the hair brush, but Smoobee's are all intact still. Same goes for the synthetic boar bristles, those are as well intact. Other similar brushes to the Smoobee the bristles and the whole thing that holds the bristles in would often come completely off, but Smoobee has held up so far!!

  Jedilynn absolutely loves her Lelli Kelly shoes!! Don't mind her messy hair and mix match pajamas. She has worn her Lelli Kelly's almost daily! They need a good washing, I will be sure to take before and after pictures when I throw them in the washer so you all can see just how well they wash up and how well they hold up in the wash. I've heard they hold up GREAT, but we shall see! 

Jedilynn was so excited to wear these shoes to school, she came home and told me all about her day and how she told/showed everyone her awesome new shoes! She said they all LOVE her shoes and her friends all want a pair! Jedilynn wants another pair of Lelli Kelly's, but this time she wants a different style, well... she would love a pair of each style. She is your typical girl when it comes to SHOES! 

All of the beads have held up and stayed in place, they are hand sewn on with a plastic like thread. The only thing that bothered Jedilynn, was that the removable leather insert comes out almost every time she takes her shoes off.

Jedilynn colored one of the bags and then she had great grandma "sign" the back of the bag... then Cade, my two year old... decided he was going to color over sissy's beautiful bag... Thankfully I didn't have Cade color the second bag just yet, so now Jedilynn can color the blank one and Cade can have the one that they both colored. 
Jedilynn absolutely loves arts and crafts! This was a great thing for her to color and personalize to her own liking over the weekend. She is also a bag freak! She loves bags, whether she uses them to carry things around the house, store craft supplies and unfinished projects in or even as an overnight bag as she spends most weekends away from home at grandma's, great grandma's or auntie's house. 
We took a trip to Target after she finished coloring her recycled tote bag and I was so proud of her when she asked the cashier to put her items in her new tote bag instead of a plastic grocery store bag! We have not made the switch to reusable grocery bags yet so to me that was a big step in the right direction! In school they are learning about recycling, natural resources and other similar subjects so having her color this recycled tote bag from Colortime Crafts was perfect timing! While coloring she would tell me things they have learned, not only was this a great thing for her to color and be able to personalize, but it helped her "remember" some things they have learned about and things they have done in school/class. Most days when she comes home and I ask her what she learned or what she did in school she often say, "I forgot" or "Nothing", which I know is not the full truth, but for a 1st grader the school day is very long and by the end of the day, I'm sure I'd reply the same as her and I'm sure other children do as well. 

Thank you Colortime Craft we really loved these Recycled Tote Bags and it was a great bonding time for Jedilynn and I as I have two younger boys who often take up too much of mommy's. :)
