Original Sprout was founded by Inga Tritt in 2003. The name Sprout was inspired by the birth of her daughter Maya in 2002. Inga was born in Germany and grew up in Montecito, California. She has a love of nature, art and architecture which has led her to a successful career as a Master Stylist. Inga wanted to be a full time mom so she sold her salons and spas and moving to the country where she lives and creates her safe professional products for families worldwide.
Island Bliss Collection
The Island Bliss Collection ($64.99ARV) is good for use with all hair types, but also helps protects hair that is color treated from fading. The collection includes Island Bliss Shampoo, Island Bliss Conditioner & Tahitian Hair Oil. Like Original Sprout's other shampoos and conditioners this collection also naturally moisturizes your hair with safe and gentle ingredients. They use a Worry-Free formula which is free of sulfats, parabens and other damaging ingredients. To help strengthen and soothe hair they use vegetable proteins and organic extracts. Original Sprout's shampoos are also easy rinsing, including their Original Little Sprouts Hair & Body Wash.
I GREATLY enjoy using these products! In fact, Ezio had been playing around in the bathroom and my shampoo was MIA, I HAD to find it! I colored my hair earlier this year and although I was using a color treated hair protection shampoo from a salon, my hair BLED like crazy! I was so upset as my beautiful red and hair turned to a nasty orange within just days!! It was so bad that I had to continue to wipe my forehead while showering and if I felt any water run down from my head even after getting out of the shower because I was loosing so much of the color that it was dying my skin! I had more hair dye stains on my skin just from showering then I did when I originally had it dyed. It was horrible. However, after receiving this hair care collection I have not seen a single tinge of hair color in the water while showering!! I'm so excited about this! I do not have the beautiful deep red that I so deeply loved, but the color has finally stopped bleeding out with using this line of products meaning my hair has not been stripped down to the ugly bleached hair color. Yes, I had to dye my hair because my hair is nearly black! Okay, most people think my hair is black, but it is just a really really dark brown.
I also love using this shampoo on the whole family after we've gone swimming. Usually mine and my daughter's hair become rough and super dry like hay after swimming in a treated pool. My hair even becomes gross from swimming in natural water ways, such as a pond or river. This shampoo and conditioner bring all of our hair back to life and soft and smooth again within two hair washings, depending on how long we were in the pool. Dan even used it after swimming and loved it, didn't care that it was a "mom" shampoo, he was just happy that his hair wasn't hay.
While this shampoo is very moisturizing, obviously if it can turn hay feeling hair into beautiful soft and smooth hair in one to two washes, then it must be full of tons of moisturizer right? So wouldn't that cause oily or greasy hair? NOPE! I have naturally very greasy hair and if anything this shampoo and it's naturally moisturizing abilities have helped neutralize my overly greasy hair! I'm always hesitant to use shampoos in which say that they are moisturizing shampoos and conditions are just a flat out no-no for my hair. But, with this collection from Original Sprout, I have had fantastic results with the shampoo, am able to use the conditioner with no issues and I can even use the Tahitian Hair Oil!! I never in my life thought I'd ever be able to use hair oils, but I can definitely use this one and I do!
We've tried both the Original Sprouts Baby products and now these products for moms and this is one of the few hair product companies in which what they advertise and say about their products is actually the truth!! I've seen other companies try to advertise their products as being good for all hair types and they just absolutely ruin my hair! I am in love with Original Sprout and every single mommy group on Facebook that I am in, I definitely recommend Original Sprout before any other brand! Especially for their Baby Scrumptious Body Lotion, it is amazing for Cade and Ezio's sensitive skin and eczema. You can read our review about their baby products here.
