#summerfluffing This Is Sew Me Organics fitted & wool soaker review & fitted diaper giveaway! US 7/31

This Is Sew Me Organics is run by Heather who has been sewing and designing for years and truly loves it. She has a son named Atticus who was her inspiration for creating her own diaper line as he was born with eczema and constantly had diaper rashes from many other cloth diapers that she had tried. Her goal was to create easy to use all natural and organic diapering systems for sensitive skin, but also have the ability to hold up for heavy wetters.

Organic Bamboo/Hemp Fitted Diaper

This fitted diaper ($29.72ARV) is a OS with four rise settings; newborn, small, medium and large and cross over snaps along the wings for a great fit from newborn to large. This diaper fits approximately 8 to 35 pounds. The diaper is made of 30% hemp and 70% organic cotton with 100% organic cotton exterior. The inserts are small and large, which both have three layers of bamboo charcoal fleece and organic cotton. These fitteds have a surged finish to them and smooth leg elastic casings. Not sure what some of these fabrics are? You can read more about the fabrics and their benefits here

Ezio, 19 months old and 26 pounds, wore this fitted diaper with both soakers snapped in and with the wool cover over it (see below) for a total of 10 hours with out a single damp spot on the wool! I absolutely love the awesome print and how soft this diaper is. The two separate snap in soakers really help for quicker drying time, plus I always have at least 4 wool dryer balls in my dryer. I've tried other fitteds and while they will last through the night for Ezio, this fitted lasts through the night for Cade as well who is my 3 year old heavy wetter who is 39 pounds!
His shirt is NOT wet from this diaper.
He is such a crab after he wakes from his naps!

Awesome fit in the legs!

It's a little blurry, but one of my favorite pictures!

 Organic Natural Merino Wool Soaker

We also received an XLarge Organic Merino Wool Soaker ($32.69ARV) , XLarge has a rise of 20.5", waist of 19", thighs/legs measure 11-13" and should fit a toddler from about 30 to 40 pounds who wears around a size 2T-3T. These are also available in newborn, small, medium and large. This wool soaker is made of 95% Merino Wool and 5% Spandex Interlock. There is no elastic in these soakers/diaper covers and they are prewashed and preshrunk. They are surged at the waist and legs with 100% organic cotton thread for a professional look and secure hold.

As most of you may know by now, Cade and Ezio both have sensitive skin and eczema. This fitted diaper being 100% organic is a huge advantage for us with their skin problems. After Ezio wore this fitted diaper with the wool soaker he didn't even have the slightest red marks. However, when I then put a different diaper on him he had heat rash on his waist line after only 30 minutes. So I put a prefold on him with the wool cover over it and wala heat rash started to go away! We've never used wool before. I never imagined wool to be as soft and comfy as this wool soaker is! Wool has always been itchy on me and I was rather nervous to try it out on the boys w/their skin issues and Cade's sensory issues with the different materials he will wear, but both boys were perfectly fine with the wool soaker. Cade didn't seem bothered by it at all!

This soaker is a tad big in the waist on Cade, but I'm perfectly fine with that as it still stays up on the diaper and he has room to grow into it. It's hard to find diapering items that fit Cade let alone that he still has room to grow into, so to me this fit is perfect! Cade usually has some redness on his bottom area from many diapers, but with an organic/all natural absorbency and then the wool soaker over it his skin is very clear and he seems so much more comfortable.
This was our first ever wool soaker and I am in love with it as well as the awesome bug print organic Bamboo/Hemp fitted diaper!!!!

#summerfluffing Zookaboo Skullies Diaper & T-Shirt Set Review & Giveaway! US 7/31

Zookaboo is a small family owned and operated business in the small town of Lancaster County, PA. Zookaboo was started by the desire of Michele to be a stay at home mom with her young children. Michele hand cuts, sews and packages all of her items.

The Skullies t-shirt that matches the diaper is a short sleeve cotton shirt and is available in four colors; green, blue, pink and black and five sizes; 6m, 12m, 18m, 2T and 3T. The t-shirt does run quite a bit small, Ezio is 18 months old and wears 18/24m and 2T clothing, the shirt he is wearing is a size 3T and it fits him great. The shirt also fits Cade, who is 3 years old and wears a 3T/4T, however it is pretty short and sort of snug on him. The front of the t-shirt has a skull applique that matches the diaper cover. This applique is cut by hand, heat bonded and then sewn around the edges for added secure placement.

The Skullies Diaper Cover (& matching shirt have a value of $27) is made with a cotton outer that is lined with PUL. The inner of this diaper is nice and soft, no sticky PUL to touch babies skin and cause irritation or rashes. You can even use this diaper cover as a swim diaper by it's self. You can choose hook and loop or snaps with crossover snaps/loop. If you choose snaps there are also hip snaps, no more wing droop and with a double row of snaps you get a nice secure fit. If you choose hook and loop, there are laundry tabs included on the inside to secure it while washing. These diaper covers are one size with a rise of 13-19" (rise-from belly button to back of waist) and fit babies and toddler from approximately 10 to 35 pounds.

Ezio is wearing the diaper cover in the photo above, he is 19 months old and 26 pounds with a skinny waist and some what chunky thighs. Depending on what I put on him for absorbency under neath the cover depends on which rise setting the diaper is set on. With prefolds it is usually snapped all the way down. I love this cover! Not only for the super adorable print and matching t-shirt, but also for the effectiveness of keeping everything inside and leaving his clothes and mine dry. I love that the snaps and wings are wide and not too narrow as this way they fully cover all of the absorbent layers inside of the diaper. One of my biggest pet peeves is when a cover's wings and belly panel are not wide enough and leave absorbent layers exposed making for easy leaks or you have to tuck it in and then it's all bunched up and can't be comfortable for babe. I haven't had a single issue like this with the Zookaboo cover!

Cade has also wore this cover, as stated above he is 3 years old and 39 pounds. Depending on what I put for absorbency under the cover on Cade I can snap it down to the second snap, first snap or leave it unsnapped for the big bulky night time fitteds. I will try to update with a photo of this cover and maybe even the shirt on Cade, he usually tells me "That's my brother baby's diaper." I love that I can get a good fit on both of my boys with this cover even though Cade almost 40 pounds, nearly 5 pounds over the approximate weight "limit". Great diaper cover! Plain and simple!

#summerfluffing For Your Bug-A-Boo: Imse Vimse 4 pack of Contour Fitted Diapers ($41.50ARV) Review & Giveaways US 7/31

For Your Bug-A-Boo is a natural baby boutique that offers only healthy choices for your baby and you as they know your baby is precious to you and they want to make it easier for you to shop by offering only safe, natural and organic selections for both babies and mothers. For Your Bug-A-Boo makes it easy on parents to make healthy choices for their selves as well as their babies as they provide detailed product descriptions for every natural baby product as well as the manufacturer information. They take great pride in offering products that do not use detergents, sulphates, parabens, petro-chemicals, artificial fragrances, genetically modified ingredients or animal testing.

Imse Vimse Contour Diapers

Imse Vimse Organic Flannelette Contour Diapers ($41.50ARV) are made of 100% organic cotton and have elastic through the legs. These are one size diapers for babies and toddlers from approximately 11 to 35 pounds. They also have them available in a smaller newborn size for babies from approximately 4.5 to 18 pounds. This contour diaper has been approved for the Swedish Environmental License because it is a quick drying and energy conserving diaper. This diaper is very soft and absorbent as well as trim, not at all bulky. Great ease of use as well!

Prepping my Imse Vimse Contour Diapers

Yes, I most certainly did boil them! Why? Because you can boil contour diapers, flats and prefolds for about 30-45 minutes, then wash as you would usually wash a soiled cloth diaper and dry as normal. This completely omits the 3 to 5 plus washes most things recommend before using to acquire great absorbency. Some people do not realize that these 3 to 5 plus washes, also mean you have to dry them in between each wash! To me this is craziness and I boil any and everything that I possibly can as I am way to impatient to wait for my new diapers to be washed and dried that many times!

Design

Imse Vimse Contour Diapers have a unique design to them. They are made of a very layers of organic cotton with a sewn in soaker of organic cotton. The soaker is sewn into the front of the diaper. This type of soaker and organic cotton material help for very quick drying and would be the perfect diaper for anyone who has to hand wash and also for those who hang dry.

Ease of use!
These contour diapers very easy to use! You just lay the sewn in soaker flat along the wet zone and wrap onto baby. But what if this is too big for my baby? There are no rise snaps. Very simple! Just fold down the back and/or the front to adjust the size to your baby's needs as well as creating a pocket to eliminate messes. You can fasten this diaper together with pins, snappi or boingos. I only have Snappi's right now and they glide on so easily!

I could probably fold down the front or back to eliminate a bit of the 'extra' fabric, but I like the fit we achieve with these awesome contour diapers. The elastic is covered by the organic cotton leaving no irritation or red marks on Ezio's thighs.

Ezio is 18 months old and 26 pounds, he has a skinny waist, but quite the chubby belly, especially after he's been eating and has a full tummy. The Snappi grabs onto the fabric with great ease! No struggling to get the teeth of the Snappi to hook onto the fabric of the diaper. If I had diaper pins, I would only need one pin to place in the middle thanks to the generously sized wings and Ezio's skinny waist.

You could always add a doubler below of above the sewn in soaker, I personally choose not to as I feel the diaper is absorbent enough by it's self for Ezio's use during the day. I have not tried these on him through out the night, but he has napped while wearing one and it was great, no leaks and it wasn't yet completely soiled. He naps for about 3 hours and I'm almost certain he could go a couple more hours past that, maybe even more.

I have not tried these on Cade yet, but I will and I will update this post with our experience with that.

#summerfluffing Mom Becks - Thirsties Duo Wrap & OsoCozy Cloth Wipes Review & $25 GC Giveaway! US 7/31

Site Logo

Rebecca decided to start a cloth diapering store to provide others with the highest quality products with the best value and only offers products that she loves and has used as well. She has cloth diapered her own 5 children over the past 12 years and has learned a lot about what works and what just is not worth it. She was called "MomBecks" by her mother when she was younger as she was always such a little mother hen. The name just stuck and Rebecca is still MomBecks. MomBecks is located in the Colorado Springs area and you can contact Rebecca to set up an appointment and have a chance to 'look before you buy', what a great and fun opportunity for those new to cloth as well as those who have been using cloth, but would like to explore new products.

Newborn Cloth Diaper Rental Program at MomBecks
What a great way to get started with out the huge investment of start up costs! At MomBecks you can cloth diaper your newborn, from 6 to 12 pounds for only $10 per week and you will receive 24 Sandy's newborn fitted diapers and 4 Thirsties X-Small covers. This is a great way to get your foot in the water of the cloth diapering journey!

 Thirsties Duo Wrap

Thirsties Duo Wraps ($12.25ARV) are available in eight solid colors and you have the option of snaps or aplix. They are also available in two different sizes, size 1 fits 6 to 18 pounds while size 2 fits 18 to 40
pounds. These wraps will last twice as long as your standard one size diaper cover. Thirsties Duo Wraps have exposed PUL so you can reuse them many times before needing to wash them. They also have double leg gussets, great for holding in those newborn pooplotions and other messes. You can use these wraps with trifolded prefolds, snappied prefolds and trim fitteds. Thirsties Duo Wraps are made in the US!

Ezio is 18 months old and 26 pounds. With the Size 2, Thirsties Duo Wrap on Ezio the rise is fully snapped down with a little room still. Even though it is fully snapped down with a little extra room, it still protects very well, whether I use a single snappied prefold, a snappied prefold with a trifolded smaller prefold as a doubler
and also great with different thickness fitted diapers.

Cade is 3 years old and 39 pounds. While he wears the Thirsties Duo Wrap the rise snaps are fully opened or sometimes snapped down one, depending on what I put under the cover. I usually use prefolds on Cade occasionally I'll use fitteds. Even though the wrap's rise snaps are fully opened there is still a ton of room for this wrap to continue to grow with Cade and I personally think it will fit for well past 40 pounds, although Cade is tall and fairly skinny, so on a shorter and chubby baby it will probably fit differently.

Both of the boys have sensitive skin and eczema. We've used some other covers with FOE/binding around the diaper and those other ones would leave red rashes on the boys thighs, but we've had NO issues with the FOE on this wrap! The aplix is very strong and very 'sticky'. I also love how the wings on this wrap are wide so they fully cover prefolds and fitteds around hips, unlike others we have tried.

When the FOE becomes damp, I just let it air dry and then we use it again at the next diaper change. If neither of the boys is wearing this cover to bed then I toss it in the wash when I do my diaper laundry at night, once they have gone to bed.

All in all, I love the Thirsties Duo Wrap! It is a great cover and protects against leaks from #1 and #2 great!

OsoCozy Cloth Wipes

OsoCozy Cloth Wipes ($9.75ARV) are made of unbleached cotton flannel and unbleached cotton terry with a multicolored surging around the edge and are super soft! These cloth wipes measure 8" x 8", thicker and more absorbent making for the perfect cloth wipes. These are made in Pakistan and come in packs of 12. They do need a little prepping, or maybe I should say prepping is recommended. They should be washed several times to strip off the natural oils and also so they can become more absorbent.

I have fairly large hands, for a girl any how. I absolutely love that these cloth wipes are larger then my hand! I have many cloth wipes that are smaller then my hand and you need many of those to get the job done. With the OsoCozy wipes, I only need one, sometimes two. So awesome! I don't make a wipe solution yet, all I do is get one or two wet, by running it under the water from the sink.

I always see charts for how much cloth diapers can save you per child or per year, but never seen anything about how much you can save if you use cloth wipes. From reading MomBeck.com I have learned that you will save around $500 per child when using cloth wipes! Also, cloth wipes don't really have a maximum life span or a point where they will no longer be useable like some diapers that contain PUL, so these would last through several children and save you tons of money! With two in diapers, when we were using disposable wipes we were spending about $15-$20 on wipes every 2 weeks or so and that was buying the cheapest wipes we could find that were okay with the boys' skin.

#summerfluffing Cheeky Cloth Review & Giveaway US 7/31

Cheeky Cloth is run by a WAHM named Shannon and located in the Great Northwest. She is a mother of three active boys and has a very supportive husband. Shannon wanted to help save her family some money so she began cloth diapering their youngest child, but quickly became bored with the solid colored diapers and decided to start sewing her own fun and fashionable prints for her son's bum, thus Cheeky Cloth was born!

Shannon has been making nursing covers and burp cloths for her friends' baby shower as gifts for a few years, but with their encouragement she has since decided that she wanted to share her designs with customers. She uses quality fabrics and makes sure that every item has care put into it.

Guitar Training Pants & Organic Bamboo Fitted Diaper

We received a pair of adorable training pants and an organic bamboo OS fitted diaper from Cheeky Cloth.

"A Pirate's Life For Me" Organic Bamboo OS Fitted Diaper

"A Pirate's Life For Me" Organic Bamboo OS Fitted Diaper ($21.50ARV) is made with super soft Organic Bamboo Velour lining, hidden layer of Bamboo Fleece and a fashionable 100% Cotton Knit print fabric. The snap-in soaker is made of two layers of Organic Bamboo Velour, two layers of Bamboo Fleece, when it is snapped into the diaper the soaker will need to be folded down and will provide 8 thirsty layers to the wet zone. You can also add an additional 4 layers to the wet zone by adding the booster under the snap-in soaker. This fitted diaper will fit babies and toddlers from approximately 8-35 pounds. Along the front of the diaper there are snaps for a snap down rise, making this diaper adjustable to your baby as they grow. It also has crossover snaps, great for the skinny babies! Fitted diapers do require a cover or soaker, but they are extremely absorbent and you may notice that you may not have to put a cover on over the fitted diaper.

I mostly use this fitted diaper on Ezio, who is 18 months old and 26 pounds. The rise snaps are snapped down and due to his skinny waist the cross over snaps come in handy! On Ezio we use the first crossover snap and get a great fit, in the photo below I hadn't crossed over the tabs.

Super adorable bum!
No need for a cover with this fitted on Ezio! I do however use a cover or soaker over this diaper if it is near nap or bedtime as a just in case. It take a few hours of wear before the outer cotton knit fabric becomes damp. Ezio has napped and slept through the night in this diaper with no issues! He usually takes about a three hour nap and sleeps about ten hours through the night. The inside is so soft and feels like it would be so comfy.

As Cade is 39 pounds and has a bit wider waist then Ezio this diaper does not fit him so well, but it does still fit and holds quite a bit even from Cade! Cade has also wore this diaper over night, I'd love to have him wear it more often, however it doesn't look too comfortable on his hips.

Cade has super cute training pants ($11.50ARV) though! I need to get a picture of them on him, little stinker always runs from me, but I'll update you all soon. Cheeky Cloth training pants are designed to fit toddlers from approximately 18m to 3T, but can be made smaller or larger. They are made with a cute outer layer of cotton knit fabric, hidden layer of Bamboo Fleece in the wet zone, super soft Cotton Velour inner layer and soft cotton knit stretchy leg and waist bands. Cheeky Cloth training pants are absorbent enough for an accident, but still allow the wetness against your child so they can feel the wetness that is key in potty learning.

Cade did have an accident in his Cheeky Cloth training pants and they held his accident! No mess to clean up, but also not as absorbent as a diaper so he felt the wetness, which he did not like and wanted to try and use the bathroom and get a clean and dry pair on. Washing them is super easy as all you need to do is toss them in the wash and tumble dry, just don't use bleach or fabric softeners. For me it is super easy as Ezio is in diapers and Cade still wears diapers as well so I just toss them in the diaper pail and wash.

#summerfluffing Three Monkeys Cloth Diapers Review & Giveaway US 7/17-7/31

Stacey is the WAHM behind Three Monkeys Cloth Diapers and she is quite awesome if I may say so myself. She has been making cloth diapers for about two years ever since she was pregnant with her twins. With the supply she would need for twins she just couldn't justify paying the huge corporate company hundreds of dollars. She has been sewing since she was about 6 or 7 years old, when her mom showed her how to sew her own Barbie clothes. So Stacey figured with a pattern she could sew her own diapers and after many, many revisions, she is really proud with what she has to offer. As she most definitely should be, wait I can't jump the gun with my excitement! Back to Stacey and how Three Monkeys Cloth Diapers came about!

Stacey's diapers have been tried and tested by tons of babies with feedback from her customers and her own experience on her own babies. She has sold her diapers on Ebay (threemonkeysclothdiapers) with over 450, 100% positive feedback left. While she can sew anything from costume to curtains, her main focus in on cloth diapering needs. She loves special orders and is always more then happy to work with her customers to get the perfect diaper for your baby. Her diapering business has been so good, she recently had the pleasure of inviting her friend and fellow SAHM, Shalisha to join her in the producing of Three Monkeys Cloth Diapers. Her friend Shalisha has a 13 month old son and another new little one born back in December. Three Monkeys has now grown to 4 little monkeys and 1 big monkey!

Rainbow Chevron Pocket Diaper!

Rainbow Chevron! DROOL! This print is so awesome, it has been my new LOVE! The design of Three Monkeys Cloth Diapers is also a new love of mine!

Three Monkeys Cloth Diapers are pocket diapers, but they are not your ordinary pocket diaper. The opening is in the front of the diaper (see below) and the wings/tabs are shaped a bit different, as you can see in the above photo.

The pocket is nice and wide, allowing for easy stuffing and your hand does not become caught inside. I have tried other inserts then what is provided by Three Monkey Cloth Diapers and they have all fit in this pocket diaper perfectly! No bunched up inserts, one of my biggest cloth diapering pet peeves! I absolutely love that the pocket is at the front of the diaper rather then at the back as when there is an almost explosive poop you don't have to try and pull the inserts out, with out getting poo on your hand! Awesome!

The pocket diaper is made with a no wicking PUL fabric as the outer layer, available in solid and prints with no need for a cover, also has a Cuddle Dry Microfleece (CDMF) inner lining for a stay dry feel against baby's delicate skin. Made with quality KAM snaps, which are placed at eleven 1" increments along the belly in two rows allowing NO wing drooping, three columns of four rise snaps as well as cross-over snaps for maximum adjust-ability on the wings. The pocket diaper also comes with an awesome multifunction bamboo fleece soaker which I absolutely love the design of as well!

The Multi-function soaker is made with 2 layers of 16 oz. 70% bamboo and 30% organic cotton fleece and measures a total length of 32 inches and can be folded in half to make a four layer 16 inch quick dry pad. Above you can view the different folds that Three Monkey Cloth Diapers demonstrates. I prefer to fold the two short ends inside of the the long ovular part so I have four layers in the front as I have two boys.

Above is a photo of the front of my soaker with how I fold it, but you may fold or unfold the soaker however it would work best for you and your little one.

So do you think the Three Monkeys Cloth Diaper and Multi-Functioning Bamboo Soaker succeeded in the Cade challenge?! If you guessed, yes, then you are definitely correct! The wings are long enough that they nearly reach the center of the belly snaps! That is one huge step for this pocket diaper already, I was able to achieve and maintain a great fit on Cade who is 3 years old and about 39lbs. The Bamboo Soaker folded how I show in the photo above doubled with another insert lasts Cade all through the night and he is a heavy wetter! I would definitely say this pocket diaper would fit beyond the recommended/approximate weight of 35 pounds per Three Monkey Cloth Diapers.

Three Monkeys Cloth Diapers are very trim, even when "over stuffed". Cade has wider hips for his age and for being male, while that is not an issue for other things, when it comes to finding a diaper that will fit, it is very slim to none however this awesome pocket diaper has most definitely fit Cade the best out of all the diapers we have tried and is about equal to one with how the wings are longer then usual, but Three Monkeys Cloth Diapers definitely beat the other diaper by functionality. I will update with a photo of the front of the diaper on Cade.
Of course this diaper is also awesome Ezio, I usually switch off between putting it on the two boys. I get a great fit with this diaper on Ezio as well. Ezio is 18 months and 26lbs.

Ezio is a silly little one. Loves to be warm, but never wants pants, socks or shoes on. Anyhow, back to this awesome diaper. Ezio has a skinny waist and fairly skinny thighs, Cade's thighs are skinnier, but Ezio's waist is smaller. I usually have leaks at the waist line of diapers with Ezio as I usually can not get a snug fit in the waist and there is often a large gap between his waist/tummy and diaper. Perfect snug fit with this Three Monkeys Cloth Diaper, no red marks left behind either.
