Create Your Own Pet Books & More at Blurb!

Disclosure: This post contains affiliate links meaning I will be compensated if you make a purchase after clicking my link.

Over the past few weeks I’ve been sharing how and why Blurb is such an incredible source for telling your story—whether it includes photos, words, or both. I realize that not everyone has the desire to write a novel or sell a book of their photos. Some people just want to commemorate a trip, an event, or a special occasion. Others may want to visually capture a business concept or life experience. Whatever the inclination, Blurb makes it easy and affordable to realize it.

Chances are you already have an idea for the kind of book you want to create. But in case you need a little inspiration, here are a few ways people have used Blurb to create their own creative and useful books:

Gifts
A beautiful, custom-made book is one of the most thoughtful, meaningful gifts you can give. With Father’s Day, graduation, and wedding season just around the corner, this type of book can make the perfect gift that keeps on giving. And with Blurb’s cutting-edge book-making tools, you can add photos, words, stories, drawings—anything you want—and make something that’s truly one-of-a-kind. Ideas include: a favorite recipes book, a baby’s first year book, a book of poems, a senior year book, etc.

Memoirs
You have a story to tell. Ok, so you may not have hiked across the Sahara or been on Broadway, but that doesn’t mean that you haven’t impacted lives or had interesting life experiences. And it certainly doesn’t mean that you don’t have valuable insights to impart. Even if you have no interest in sharing your memoir with anyone, the process of reflecting on your life and writing down some of your thoughts and experiences can be incredibly eye-opening and cathartic.

Pet Books
What better way to showcase your best friend than with their very own book. It could be something as simple as pictures and quips of trips to the park, naps on the couch, playing with a favorite toy, or basking in the sun, to a more in-depth life story book about your pet. These can be shared as gifts, sold to fellow pet-lovers, or just kept for your own personal enjoyment.

Non-Profit Fundraising Books
With Blurb, non-profits can share their story with compelling words and images and then sell them via Blurb’s Sell & Distribute option to fundraise for their organization. For example, Gerrit Greve’s Hearts for Healing book showcases how kids interpret a giving heart through art. It also chronicles how Greve’s students gained new confidence in themselves and their abilities knowing that their art could make a difference in someone’s life and health. This beautiful book is an example of how Blurb’s platforms can be used to support a cause that’s important to you.

These are just a few ways that you can use Blurb to share your story or promote a purpose, but know that there are many, many others. Get creative! Honestly, the most important part is just clicking on the “Get Started” link on Blurb.com. As you start the process of creating your own book, you’ll be surprised at how quickly the creativity floodgates open!

And when it does and you’ve created your own book, be sure to tell me about it—if you’re okay with me doing so, I’d love to promote it to other readers. Who knows? You may inspire someone else to create a book of their own!

The Pasta Shoppe Review & Giveaway US 6/15

Disclosure: I received the below package in exchange for my honest review, all opinions and experiences are 100% our own and may differ from those of your own. Mami's 3 Little Monkeys holds no responsibility for the fulfillment of the giveaway prize.

The Pasta Shoppe began in 1992 when John and Carey Aron went on their honeymoon to Italy. They fell in love with pasta and the Italian lifestyle and knew that someday they wanted to recreate a piece of Italy back home. They returned to Italy in 1994 so they could understand exactly what it took to make the highest-quality and best-tasting pasta around.

They added in something fun; hand-crafted bronze dies to create more then 250 different pasta shapes! They have shapes from cat paws to Christmas trees to college logos and shapes for everyone. The Pasta Shoppe is family run and home based in Nashville, Tennessee.

The Pasta Shoppe's pasta is made in small batches of quality pasta, not mass produced. They buy all of their pasta making machine directly from Italy and use only the finest ingredients available. Their plant is similar to the 'boutique' manufacturing plants found in Italy.

We received a package of the above pastas.

Includes:
Spinach Basil Garlic Angel Hair Nests - $4.99
Reindeer Noodle Soup - $5.99
Wintertime Chili - $5.99
Chicken Noodle - $5.99
Snowman Pasta - $5.50
Music Notes Pasta - $5.50
Halloween Pasta - $5.50
Wisconsin Badgers Pasta (includes a vinaigrette mix) - $5.99

When we received our box of pasta I was so pleased to see the Chicken Noodle and Reindeer Noodle as Jedilynn was sick with a cold. I knew either of them would be the perfect thing for her.

I made her the Reindeer Noodle which is chicken noodle flavored. It was super quick and easy to make, only took about 15 minutes to make and makes 12 cups of soup! Enough for the whole family to enjoy! I added some peas and carrots to the soup. My daughter ate a bunch of this soup, I was so pleased that she enjoyed it. Soup is great for everyone when they have a cold.

I absolutely love buttered noodles with seasoning salt or grated Parmesan cheese. So I made myself the  Halloween pasta and add some butter and seasoning salt since I didn't have any grated Parmesan. It was delicious!

Usually I am worried about under cooking shaped pasta as they tend to take longer to cook, but I had no issues cooking any of our Pasta Shoppe shaped pasta to the perfect tenderness! The Pasta Shoppe uses 100% durum wheat and they add "all natural" vegetable powders for their pasta color with an exception for the Collegiate Pasta and Angel Hair Pasta Nests. They understand that College fans want their team colors so they add a little bit of food coloring to achieve the appropriate colors.

When I made the Wintertime Chili I added a can of kidney beans and it was perfect! Sorry, I don't have a picture of the chili. Definitely a great chili pasta dish for winter and especially awesome for a quick nights' dinner. Are you a working mom or just plain old busy? Then you'll want to try some The Pasta Shoppe's pasta "kits" as I call them. They are greatly priced and so convenient.
