The Pasta Shoppe began in 1992 when John and Carey Aron went on their honeymoon to Italy. They fell in love with pasta and the Italian lifestyle and knew that someday they wanted to recreate a piece of Italy back home. They returned to Italy in 1994 so they could understand exactly what it took to make the highest-quality and best-tasting pasta around.
They added in something fun; hand-crafted bronze dies to create more then 250 different pasta shapes! They have shapes from cat paws to Christmas trees to college logos and shapes for everyone. The Pasta Shoppe is family run and home based in Nashville, Tennessee.
The Pasta Shoppe's pasta is made in small batches of quality pasta, not mass produced. They buy all of their pasta making machine directly from Italy and use only the finest ingredients available. Their plant is similar to the 'boutique' manufacturing plants found in Italy.
We received a package of the above pastas.

When we received our box of pasta I was so pleased to see the Chicken Noodle and Reindeer Noodle as Jedilynn was sick with a cold. I knew either of them would be the perfect thing for her.
I made her the Reindeer Noodle which is chicken noodle flavored. It was
super quick and easy to make, only took about 15 minutes to make and
makes 12 cups of soup! Enough for the whole family to enjoy! I added some peas and carrots to the soup. My daughter ate a bunch of this soup, I was so pleased that she enjoyed it. Soup is great for everyone when they have a cold.
I absolutely love buttered noodles with seasoning salt or grated Parmesan cheese. So I made myself the Halloween pasta and add some butter and seasoning salt since I didn't have any grated Parmesan. It was delicious!
Usually I am worried about under cooking shaped pasta as they tend to take longer to cook, but I had no issues cooking any of our Pasta Shoppe shaped pasta to the perfect tenderness! The Pasta Shoppe uses 100% durum wheat and they add "all natural" vegetable powders for their pasta color with an exception for the Collegiate Pasta and Angel Hair Pasta Nests. They understand that College fans want their team colors so they add a little bit of food coloring to achieve the appropriate colors.
When I made the Wintertime Chili I added a can of kidney beans and it was perfect! Sorry, I don't have a picture of the chili. Definitely a great chili pasta dish for winter and especially awesome for a quick nights' dinner. Are you a working mom or just plain old busy? Then you'll want to try some The Pasta Shoppe's pasta "kits" as I call them. They are greatly priced and so convenient.
