About Lokai
While steven Izen was a freshman at Cornell University, his grandfather, "Papa" was diagnosed with Alzheimer's Disease. This was the first time Steven felt helpless, knowing he would have to sit back and watch as his Papa's mental faculties and body slowly deteriorate.
Lokai is a bracelet that encourages one to be humble through the highs and hopeful through the lows. It draws you to the earth and with its natural sensibility of highs and lows, Steven set out to give this sense of balance a physical form. After countless hours of research and developing and three years later, lokai was born!
The lokai bracelet is infused with elements from the highest and lowest points on Earth. The black ball holds mud from the Dead Sea while the white ball holds carring water from Mt. Everest and these two balls are on opposite ends/sides of the bracelet. There is a string of clear beads linking the black and white, signifying that throughout life's circular journey your path is your own. "Life is about the journey, not the destination." as Steven has put it.
Wear the lokai bracelet to remember that life sees many altering moments, but what matters is how you process them. Give loaki to someone who might do well to remember the value of his or her own personal journey or wear it yourself as a reminder that your path in life, is yours alone.
Sometimes we all just need a little reminder through our day to day activities, experiences and troubles to keep our heads up and press on. Don't allow one small negative thing ruin your whole day and definitely do not allow it drag your down for days, months or even years. The Lokai bracelet having mud from the Dead Sea and water from Mt. Everest is really neat in my opinion.
Jedilynn wanted to wear my lokai bracelet and asked if it did anything special, I told her it was a balance bracelet and she became so excited thinking it would help her walk along a tight rope. While that would be awesome, that's not exactly what the lokai bracelet does. It was a little difficult to explain to a 7 year old what a balance bracelet such as the lokai was, but I think we got it figured out.
