Bummas Story
The creation of Bummas came about when we had our first baby boy. When your first arrives, you are given all kinds of advice:
"Use the wet commercial wipes, don’t use the wet commercial wipes, use gauze; use whatever is handy to block the pee; use another diaper to block the pee; don’t use that, use this; use powder to dry them off, don’t use powder-it contains talc and studies have linked talc to cancer.”
The one thing that was never mentioned was how to dry our little guy’s “stuff” off after the clean up. Our baby’s bum was just way too wet to put a diaper back on--and blowing down there until you’re blue in the face just wasn’t working. Thus Bummas were born. A soft absorbent, luxurious baby cloth to soak up all the wetness.

The Bummas Routine
Grab a Bumma cloth wipe before opening the diaper. Sneak “attacks” are
frequent and will happen the second you open the diaper! Place the Bumma over the privates while tending to the other parts.
One Bumma will soak up an entire pee. Clean up baby with a regular wipe or wet a Bumma and clean up sensitive skin. Use another Bumma to thoroughly dry baby off. Re-diaper. If the cover Bumma gets soaked rinse it off and throw it in the wash. The payoff- a dry bum, no diaper rash, and no surprise squirts. Save money on diapers, and save by not having to buy powder, and ointment.

My Review!
I received a 10 pack of cloth wipes from Bummas to do a review on. I received The Wild Ones.
Here are some photos of what I received.
Here are some photos of what I received.
I love the color variety! |
Four solid colored ones and six white wipes. |
Very nice serge. |
Now, I am often times told I have large hands, so don't worry about the wipes being too small, I think they are the perfect size! |
I use mine a little different then the Bummas Routine. What I did was I got a cup (small bowl will work as well) and put about 1/4 of water in it, then I added CJ and EJ's body wash (maybe about 1 tsp) to the water. Stirred it up and then dunked each wipe in the 'solution' I made, rang them out and then attempted to roll them to be placed into my travel wipes container... I failed to wash them before using them as I was so excited to have them... well, while I was soaking them in the soapy water, they solid wipes turned my water BLUE! Just a heads up to all my readers... there IS a good reason for them stating this on their website. :)
Too long! |
So I folded one side down a bit. |
Then I rolled the wipe up. |
Ta-Da! |
STUFFED 10 cloth wipes into a travel wipes container. |
Hehe! They all fit and the container stays closed!!! :) |
When it is time for a diaper change, I just grab out one wipe and wipe their bums. I was able to fully clean EJ's (4 months old, EBF)poo diaper with just one wipe! When using disposables I have to use about three to four each poo diaper.
These are the first cloth wipes I have ever used and I LOVE them! They are super soft, CJ (almost 2 yrs old) throws this huge fit anytime I change his diaper, well this time when using the Bummas cloth wipes, he stopped throwing a fit as soon as the super soft wipe touched his skin. It was a miracle for me!

ReplyDeleteI quite like the wild ones. My diapered toddler is pretty nutty (in a good way). I always enjoy bright bold colours (especially when they are soft to boot!)
