The author, Alexandra Egi, is a 17-year-old high school senior who aspires to make a difference in the world through her writing. This is her first novel but you would never guess by reading the book. She does a wonderful job bringing the characters to life and pulling you in so that you have to see how the girls resolve their many problems.

Princess Sophia and the Frog
Princess Sophia and the Frog is a wonderful fairy tale about friendship and happiness. The little princess, Sophia, has everything a little princess could wish for; a big castle with many things inside. But, she is bored and wants to fly to the moon. One day a little frog comes by and helps her fly high up into the sky. They come to land on different planets, where Sophia learns about feelings. She also learns that she can choose what mood she surrounds herself with, as this will impact her own. After returning to the castle she realizes that all she needs to be happy is to be surrounded by good friends.

What more could a princess possibly want or need? Other than a good friend to help show her that happiness is key? 

Since having read this book my 9 year old daughter and I discuss our feelings on a daily basis, well, when she's home. It's also important for children to have someone understanding that they can talk to about what they are or did feel through out the day. In addition to saying what they feel, is having them explain why they felt that way as well as how they could help make themselves feel happier. Give ideas and examples. 

My boys are five and three and they are not quite like girls, but it's also a good thing to discuss these things with them as well. 

All three of my children greatly enjoy this book. They like the different travels that Princess Sophia and the Frog go on. With the boys it more so strikes up conversations about where they'd like to travel and why. Some of the things they come up with are pretty cute.

My children are ages nine, five and three a positive self image is imperative at all ages and it's never too soon to start reading a book such as Hugo's It's Good To Be ME!. Often we forget to talk about emotions, how to handle certain situations, etc. Hugo's stories help fill in those often forgotten gaps. While things such as appreciating yourself and having self confidence seem like second nature, we've all learned different things at different points in our lives that we've used to help develop our own self worth. 

With having a nine year old daughter, I feel it's even more important to help teach her to be confident in herself, positive self-esteem, etc. These books are not too "young" of reads for her and she often enjoys reading them by herself as well as to her brothers. She even goes as far as explaining some things to her brothers while reading them and will give me examples from real life situations in which she has faced.

Beautiful art work and encouragement to children in every Hugo The Happy Starfish book! My children are 9, 5 and 3 years old and they all love the Hugo books. We currently have three Hugo The Happy Starfish books and the kids want more. While I'm not usually keen on ebooks, with having a destructive 3 year old having these books as ebooks has helped to preserve them. No damage and they will always be available to "redownload" if needed.

Entwined yet lost one night, delirious on my path along the shore.

Restless again for you, searching for a way to end this cold fever.

My footprints in the sand are covered in waves, of light and shade.

For one night, dreams of the fall, visions of the rise enchanted...

I shiver and shake, in the endless night, navigating by your star.

A sacred signal, for a moment evermore – our sight beyond sight.

Timeless the space, in love bound so deeply by darkest passion.

My journey takes me closer to you, my sanctuary across the dark...

Ever shining, hearing your radiant calling... my hauntress in dreams.

Sweetest salvation, await for me, in the deepest part of your heart.

Pursuing a ghost trail, for it leads me unto you – cries and echoes.

A bond by blood falls so deep inside you, my heart beats for you...

My huntress lighting my way... closer I overcome darkness and decay.

Heartland Lake

Upon a cold winter's eve night, I so hear the pale calling;

Pining, beckoning, drawing me now closer, to follow you down.

The wind seems to murmur along to me, as further I descend,

In a dream-like reverie of shadowed mist and eerie moonlight.

Deeper down in my heart, for you, I still feel just the same…

I hear the haunting melody, a call of sweetness in your voice.

Memories evergreen, as the dark trees encircling my descent.

Closer I come, hallowed domain of truest love and deepest lust.

I arrive, a wild deep blue lake, black rock, for my soul-bound.

Twelve pines spire around the water’s edge, ah my love dark-light.

The mystic wind sings hymns of forever, as I kneel before you...

With arms outstretched, I beseech your name, here for you forever.

I draw cold breaths, shallow beating heart, dark lover of night.

You glide in ephemeral passage across to me by the water's edge.

The wind begins to fade, bringing in the new dawn, deeper down;

You wrap me in your heart, as we fall in this lake of our paradise…

Author Alexander J.Mitchell was born and grew up in the South East Of England. He has always enjoyed immersing himself in books, art, music, films and the outdoors. He is fulfilling his life-long dream of becoming an accomplished novelist. A few years ago, he met the love of his life, who also inspired him to start writing again. Hugo The Happy Starfish - The Secret To Happiness eBook is a very cute and fun read about a little starfish named Hugo who finds his life dull. He is tired of feeling sad so one day he sets off to find happiness. After searching for a while he discovers something that makes his heart do somersaults. Sharing with others is the only thing that makes Hugo truly happy and all other things just made him feel better for a little while.

This is a great book as us adults, whether parents, grandparents or caregivers of another nature all strive to help teach children the benefits of sharing within our communities. This eBook helps to encourage children to give, which helps to teach them about empathy as well as a sense of social responsibility. Some children can even feel empowered by sharing and giving to others.

My children are great at sharing and my daughter is a little too giving in my opinion. She will give her friends things of her own even if she really likes the item(s). We always have to watch her closely in the mornings before she heads off to the bus stop other wise when she returns home, something that she took with will probably no longer be in possession. While I love the fact that my children are sharing and giving to others, they still need to hold onto their things as well. This book about Hugo The Happy Star Fish and his experience with sharing and the explanation of his feelings while giving and sharing seemed to help open a new door for Jedilynn. She began talking out about her own feelings and such when she gives and shares with other, whether they are friends at school or her brothers. It was a nice way to have a discussion about the way she feels about this. I personally believe all children should discuss their feelings about any and all of their actions and I love that this book helped us to discuss this topic. 

All three of the kids love this book, however since Jedilynn is 7 and the boys and toddlers, she understood it better. Cade, who is 3.5 years old did mention a few different ways he recently shared something with his baby brother. I was quite impressed that he was able to understand and respond with a relevant event to the story we were reading. 

This book is available in SEVEN different languages! How fun is that!
