Princess Sophia and the Frog eBook Review

Princess Sophia and the Frog is a wonderful fairy tale about friendship and happiness. The little princess, Sophia, has everything a little princess could wish for; a big castle with many things inside. But, she is bored and wants to fly to the moon. One day a little frog comes by and helps her fly high up into the sky. They come to land on different planets, where Sophia learns about feelings. She also learns that she can choose what mood she surrounds herself with, as this will impact her own. After returning to the castle she realizes that all she needs to be happy is to be surrounded by good friends.

What more could a princess possibly want or need? Other than a good friend to help show her that happiness is key? 

Since having read this book my 9 year old daughter and I discuss our feelings on a daily basis, well, when she's home. It's also important for children to have someone understanding that they can talk to about what they are or did feel through out the day. In addition to saying what they feel, is having them explain why they felt that way as well as how they could help make themselves feel happier. Give ideas and examples. 

My boys are five and three and they are not quite like girls, but it's also a good thing to discuss these things with them as well. 

All three of my children greatly enjoy this book. They like the different travels that Princess Sophia and the Frog go on. With the boys it more so strikes up conversations about where they'd like to travel and why. Some of the things they come up with are pretty cute.

One day he finds an empty candy wrapper with a picture of a huge chocolate mountain. Usually when Hugo finds trash in the ocean it upsets him but this time what he found made him curious. Hugo discovers that his chocolate mountain is in fact a real mountain, which is called the Matterhorn and is located in Switzerland. He decides to set off on a journey to find this mountain. A huge challenge for a little starfish. Hugo learns to take one step at a time and to enjoy the journey as much as the destination. Join Hugo as he finds the secret of perseverance when the road gets difficult.

Beautiful art work and encouragement to children in every Hugo The Happy Starfish book! My children are 9, 5 and 3 years old and they all love the Hugo books. We currently have three Hugo The Happy Starfish books and the kids want more. While I'm not usually keen on ebooks, with having a destructive 3 year old having these books as ebooks has helped to preserve them. No damage and they will always be available to "redownload" if needed.
