Holiday Cookie Baking with Krusteaz!
We received this wonderful kit from Krusteaz to help create some deliciously tasty Christmas/Holiday cookies! In our kit we received a Krusteaz tote bag, apron, 10 boxes of cookie mixes, a 12pc mini cookie cutters in Holiday shapes, E-Z Deco for decorating the cookies and a festive mason jar. We received two boxes of each of the cookie mixes which are Gingerbread, Brown Sugar Oatmeal, Shortbread, Butter Vanilla Sugar and Snickerdoodle. All of my favorite cookies!!
Of course the first ones we made were the Gingerbread cookies and I baked cookies with seven children! Am I crazy? Maybe a little bit, but it was so much fun for all of us. I mixed the cookie dough up and spread ample amounts of flour across the table and gave each child a heaping spoonful of dough for them to press flat and use cookie cutters of their choice on. This was like the best thing, all of the kiddos were in heaven and some were "craftier" than others and took a bit longer. In the end everyones cookies were baked and greatly enjoyed.
Sadly we did not have time to decorate the cookies, but I know they had more than enough fun just creating their cookies. While some of the kids got carried away with the flour, my hot cocoa helped fix that. I wasn't able to taste the flour once I dunked them in my hot cocoa so there was no issue for me. Each of the kids took home a dozen cookies and we were still left with probably three dozen for our selves. I absolutely LOVE Gingerbread cookies, these were so delicious with my hot cocoa and even by themselves.
