Mooney Farms began as a family owned kiwi farming operation in 1987. They sold their products at the farmer's markets in Northern California. They added in sun dried tomatoes to their productions and their first sale to Price Club South San Francisco changed everything for them. Their Bella Sun Luci Sun Dried tomatoes in Olive Oil & HErbs sold out in a record 4 hours! The sun dried tomatoes and become mainstream and the Mooney Family had the winning recipe! The Mooney Farm has to expand and moved to a larger facility in 1994, located in Chico, California so they could meet the growing demand for their products.
Bella Sun Luci Tomatoes!
We received a variety pack of Bella Sun Luci's Tomato products. The Sun Dried Tomato's in the jars are soaking in olive oil with different delicious herbs and spices to make them each their own. While the Sun Dried Tomatoes in the bags are dry tomatoes with flavor as well.
Chilli Cornbread is a delicious dish, but you ever love a dish so much you eat it often and then you kind of want more out of it? Well, that is kind of my relationship with this dish. So, I decided I would try adding a little bit of the Bella Sun Luci Sun Dried Tomatoes in Extra Virgin Olive Oil.
I browned the ground beef, add the chili seasoning and then two heaping
teaspoons of the sun dried tomatoes. I let the tomatoes cook into the
meat along with the chili seasoning before putting the dish together. After allowing the tomatoes to cook into the meat, I poured it into the baking dish and poured the cornbread mixture over it, crossed my fingers for a delicious dish and popped it in the oven.
Adding in the Bella Sun Luci Sun Dried Tomatoes made the dish taste so much better!! I have made this dish from scratch as well and also added in the sun dried tomatoes and it was even better. We've had great success experimenting with different dishes to add the Bella Sun Luci products to and they have all been delicious. Neither Dan nor myself are huge fans of tomatoes, but you really can't tell it has tomatoes in it, just a nice added flavor to spice up those boring, same old same, dishes.
