Zakia's  Morocco

Zakia's Morocco is a beauty and wellness company, their beauty line is based upon ancient beauty treatments that were handed down over the centuries from Moroccan women and their daughters. Morocco is well known for the art of the Hammam and Oriental beauty treatments. Zakia's Morocco is a privately owned and family run business that operates in Morocco, France and the US. Zakia's Morocco was created after many discussions with friends, colleagues, family and others that they know. They understand that women are looking for products that are of superior quality, are safe to use and are also safe for the environment. They focus on Argan Oil production which allows them to do so many things.

 Moroccan Argan Oil
Moroccan Argan Oil has been called nature's anti-aging skin product. It is a versatile product that can be used for your skin, hair, nails and more... it's even a delicious culinary delight. It is produced almost solely by women's cooperatives in Morocco and when it is purchased you are directly assisting with the empowerment of local womens groups. The Argan forest is protected under UNESCO as it is slowly shrinking as the desert creeps closer as well as other environmental stresses. These trees are considered endangered so efforts are being made to keep away destruction of the ancient trees.

We received two 2fl oz bottles of Zaki'a Morocco Argan Oil, one bottle is $29.99ARV. Argan Oil is fairly expensive due to the process which consists of women manually grinding the nuts into an oily paste and then extracting the oil. A very time consuming process that the women in Berber do by hand and in small groups. It is then coordinated and sold through local markets.

This Argan oil is 100% pure organic Argan oil and contains NO PEG, mineral oil, silicon, or Parabens. It has amazing properties and is perfect for your hair and body. This oil is a light hydrating oil and is a natural moisturizer that is easily absorbed and has high amounts of vitamin E, essential fatty acids and antioxidants. It also has numerous benefits including protection against fine lines and wrinkles on the skin and neck, moisturizing dry skin, protecting against stretch marks, neutralize free radicals, add shine to hair and strengthens dry and brittle nails.  Argan Oil is recognized as a fundamental element in cosmetic care and is now a favorite of the beauty industry.

I have used Argan Oil on my hair and it definitely does leave it nice and shiny, but without the greasy feel and you wont be leaving greasy stains on your clothing, couch, etc. Argan Oil is also a great carrier oil for mixing with essential oils. You can also add essential oils to your Argan oil for a scent you love. I honestly like it with and without an essential oil for scent. You can find many recipes and uses for Argan Oil with a simple google search or even on Zakia's Morocco under the "Instructions" tab you'll find some directions on different ways to use your Argan Oil.

I also have used this on my middle child's dry eczema patches, it really helps to moisturize these patches and helps to clear them up quickly. Please note, I am not a medical professional nor am I saying Argan Oil is the best treatment for eczema, please use your best judgement. I have not yet tried it for my youngest son's eczema as he does have an allergy to tree nuts and his asthma and allergies are in the process of being controlled, once that is all taken care of I may try this on him as well to see how well it works for him, his eczema is worse than my middle child's.

  1. I actually hadn't even heard of Argan oil, previous to this post. I'm actually pregnant, and suffering from terrible eczema. This sounds like something I need to try.

  14. My hair dresser just recommended that I use Argan oil in my hair as it is dry. I don't mind paying a slightly high price if it helps women in foreign countries.
