Wazoodle Pre-Cut Diaper Making Kit Review

Wazoodle Fabrics

Wazoodle Fabrics is a family owned and operated business and is the leading manufacturer and distributor of quality textiles, notions and other items. Eco-Friendly fabrics is the main focus of Wazoodle, especially those that will help to reduce the use of disposable items. Wazoodle is the #1 source for cloth diaper making supplies!

Pre-Cut Diaper Making Kits

I received supplies to make two size large bamboo fitted diapers with three layers of Zorb in the middle for absorbency and snaps as well as a snaps pliers and elastic! These kits from Wazoodle come in different sizes and quantities, the snaps and snap pliers are sold separately on the Wazoodle website. All you need to complete these kits is a sewing machine and some basic knowledge of sewing! The pre cut kits are for Little Green Bear (LGB) diapers, which are used by leading diaper services becasue they are at a great value, exceptional performance and super soft comfort.

Layers!
The outer layer is a soft and absorbent bamboo terry, 3 layers of Zorb for absorbency in the middle and a soft and durable DiaperMaker™ Pique inner lining. These kits are available in many different sizes and styles for very reasonable pricing! Definitely where any beginner for diaper sewing should begin.

Wazoodle has their pattern for free on their website as well as helpful videos for sewing these kits on YouTube. I have made a few cloth diapers of my own before receiving this kit, but the other ones I've made were just upcycled fabrics from around the house so I pretty much just winged it on those. Following through with Wazoodles pattern and instructions as well as their YouTube video made the process easier and much quicker!

I made two, large sized bamboo fitted diapers with snap closure. This was my first time applying snaps to a diaper, but it definitely was no wheres near as difficult as I had always thought it would be! As this is not a tutorial and Wazoodle provides a great video, I will not be providing the steps that I made to make this diaper. Please check out their site and video for a how to.

I did do one thing different then the Wazoodle tutorial and instructions said, I put the belly snaps on the outer layer (bamboo terry) so that the caps were not directly on bubby's skin. Both of my boys turn beat red even if you nicely grab their arm or if your tickling them it looks like something horrible happened to them! I would definitely advise if you do want to play your snaps on the outer layer that you should add a strip of fabric along the back to help hold the snaps and keep them more secure.

TA-DA!  Above is an outside shot and then below is a shot of the inside of the diaper!

The DiaperMaker™ Pique inner lining is so soft and a nice wicking fabric to keep bubby's bum nice and dry to avoid rashes!

I so badly wanted to throw these diapers on Cade and Ezio as soon as they came off my machine, but of course I had to prep them first! I will admit, I was too anxious to try them on the boys that I only washed and dried 3 times. Zorb becomes more and more absorbent with each wash.

I think it's safe to say that smile is a smile of approval!

One thing I would definitely do differently next time is, I would add three snaps to the wings instead of just the two that I have on these two diapers that I made. The diaper is nice and trim and very absorbent. Cade, my 3 year old and 40 pounds heavy wetter wore one of these fitteds over night with his wool soaker over it and we had dry sheets in the morning! Very excited, especially as it is something I made!  I also love that this size Large diaper fits both my 26 pound and 40 pound bubbys!

Wazoodle also has kits for other things as well, I'd love to try their Precut Wet Bags Kit as well!

Happy 1 Year Anniversary Wazoodle!
Wazoodle's 1 Year Anniversary is August 2013! They are having a huge celebratory sale on tons of items and some sales are up to 80% OFF! Definitely be sure to take a look around, this is one sale you do not want to miss out on!

  2. I never used cloth diapers but I am hearing that this is the new thing and everyone seems to love them. I now that two of my cousins use them on their kids and say they would never use disposables. I know one of them would love the fact that these are kits that she could make herself.

    1. I thought I was too lazy with my first two children, but it really is not as much work as it seems! So much easier then I could have ever imagine! :)

    2. Honestly, to me, cloth diapers just means 2-3 more loads of laundry in the week. Once you get a rhythm going, you don't even notice. And the savings!

  7. That looks great! I've made two pocket diapers and one AI1, but I haven't made a fitted yet. Well...I tried to turn a prefold into a fitted, but the results are laughable. You, however, did a good job.

  12. We have been talking a lot about making our own cloth diapers but it seemed really overwhelming. We might have to try one of these kits and see how we like it before investing!
