Unfortunately I know this from experience. My now six year old daughter got her foot and side of her ankle burned when she was six months old from a cup of hot soup. When we arrived at the ER the nurse soaked her little foot in cool sterile water for an hour or two, but the heat was not all out from her burn. The nurse at the ER ignored my mother, who is in the medical field and was even in her scrubs and applied Silvadene to the burn and wrapped my six month old daughters foot in 16 feet of gauze! We were sent home like this and the next morning we woke up to yellow oozing from the gauze, my daughter ended up in Children's Hospital and needed skin graphs! So please use with caution. On another note, we did use Aquaphor in the healing process once it was OKAY to apply to it. My daughter lost NO pigment, she is half Hispanic and you could never tell her foot and ankle were burned!

 We received Aquaphor Gentle Wash & Shampoo and two Healing Ointments. Both Cade and Ezio have sensitive skin and eczema. Cade has not had any big break out patches from his eczema since we started using the Aquaphor Gentle Wash & Shampoo and the Healing Ointment. We have used the Aquaphor Healing Ointment on Cade in the past with great results. Cade's worse eczema break outs are usually in his diaper area and Aquaphor is the only thing that not only clears it up, but also prevents it from returning. When we use other creams and diaper creams on his diaper area it seems to take it away at first, but then it comes right back and often time it comes back worse then it was in the first place and this all happens with in a couple days to a week. Aquaphor Healing Ointment even helps heal once the other cream has failed to do its job. 

This was the first time we have used any Aquaphor with Ezio and he has, currently while using the Aquaphor, patches on his elbows, a little bit on his tummy and on his shins. However, Ezio is learning to crawl so he is exposed to way more irritants than Cade who is walking and not rubbing on the rug or floor all day. The Aquaphor has not yet completely cleared up Ezio's eczema patches, but it seems as though the Aquaphor has helped reduce the itching. I truly believe that once Ezio is crawling correctly instead of dragging one leg or the other along the rug and floor, the Aquaphor will be a lot better in healing Ezio's eczema patches. Also, I have not covered his patches once applying the Aquaphor so more likely then not the Aquaphor is probably being rubbed off before it is given the chance to help heal. 

We have also used the Healing Ointment on Ezio's Drool Rash, it clears it up right away! Which is great because he is a breastfed baby and often time with babies who have eczema and are breastfed if the drool rash or eczema flare-up around the mouth is not treated properly or promptly the rash becomes out of control and often times leaves the baby in too much pain or discomfort to nurse. We don't want that to happen!  

I am very pleased with our experiences with Aquaphor. Neither of the boys have had any sort of reaction to the Aquaphor products.
